  1. Does it really matter? on PETA Creates New Animal-Friendly Software License · · Score: 2, Insightful

Whether or not it's in the license, if PETA finds out that you're harming animals with ANYTHING they're gonna get all up on, and sue you anyway. So what difference does it really make if it's in a license or not?

The policy also explicitly states that school officials may adopt a local policy that is more restrictive than the state's.

State guidelines my big fat triple stacker cheeseburger. That would have had to been a school imposed Policy, according to this.

Yes, this is true. My solution was geared solely at allowing the hospital to mess with his computer without him having to worry about losing his personal data. There would have be a bit of deception necessary for this to work, and the ultimate goal of the requirement, completely forfeited.

  15. Pretty much useless on Ubisoft Says No More Game Manuals · · Score: 2, Insightful

However there are a few games, such as simulations and city building games, such as those created by the late Impressions Games, with vast complexities. Covering this kind of information in a tutorial is a little tedious and the beginners just don't care. It's really for the advanced users who want to understand how all objects interact. So, IMHO there are circumstances where game manuals are warranted, but most of the time I'd say they're not necessary.

where graphics aren't the highlight of a game and game play and story line are the key elements, a game engine only needs to be built once and tweaked per game.

But in todays "OMG SHINY PONIES!!!" game development environment, where it's clear that game play and story take second seat to graphics, the engines need continual extension/modification/rewrites in order to be shiny.
