    actually its firewire that has the power supplying ability, USB only has a trickle of power. thats why the iPod can be charged by just pluggin it into the firewire port, but not with the usb connector.

    yep, and as a result, i have no interest in ark linux. this is a huge, slick, press release. If I want a good desktop linux thats well developed and based on red hat, I'd use Mandrake (and I did, until I was shown the light that is apt-get and debian.. turns out I'm more comfortable with CONSOLE based tools).

    because it is cheaper to buy a plasma TV at current rates than to try to work a decent sized CRT TV into a decor scheme

    up until Sept 11th noone thought anyone would *willingly* crash the plane

    except those of us that weren't completely oblivious before Sept. 11 (and didn't decide to act like we never ever thought it could happen to US post-Sep11), who were already well aware that they regularly *willingly* crash their cars packed with explosives into many places. Oh and exploding Palestinians have been *willingly* running headfirst into populated Israeli areas for decades.

    somebody didnt pay attention during install and setup. wa3, for the 23.8 seconds that i had it installed and used it, didnt do that to me.

    I've used winamp on various win2k boxes and never had any problems like you described. that seems like a video drvr issue or low memory.
