Here in PA we have a town called Centralia that is over an active burning coal fire. I believe it has been burning for over 50 years. The town was considered unfit to live in and everyone was encouraged to move. There are still some stragglers remaining, I believe the population is about 5 people. You can still walk/drive through it, but at your own risk as sink holes are a huge issue. If you can ignore the rediculous pop-ups pictures of what a zombie apocalypse might look like here
"Man and machine can now be linked more intimately than ever"
Interesting choice of words, have they never seen the picture that floated around the internet of the man in lingerie, um, "loving" his car's exhaust pipe?
Ground control operator: "Hey uh.....Steve, while you're in space and all, mind if I go over to your house and sleep with your wife? I'll give you about 19 minutes to say no"
If I drink more than a cup or two of coffee I get awesome dizziness, and spectacular stomach rot. I'm jealous of those that use more to keep going, more just makes me want to lay down and give up for the day.
The little guys riding on it just top it off perfectly.
I'm reminded of the rickety dumb erector set models I made as a kid with an instruction manual.:(
Upon haphazardly compiling a potential list for this I thought:
"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
I'm glad they post the movies and directors effecting these lawsuits. Makes it easier to avoid them now and in the future. Any friend of Uwe Boll is an enemy of mine.
Isn't it a little assuming to count things we haven't found yet? I don't see anything about whether this is known species or just an arbitrary made up number of what scientists haven't seen yet. Might as well add God and the Loch Ness Monster to the list.
I drink beer so much I should have stock in it. I like higher ABV because it lasts me longer. The right beer for the right purpose....for example: if I'm drinking all day Dead Guy Ale or Guinnes might work. If its 8 PM and I'm going to bed in a few hours: it should probably be a barley-wine. Also, higher ABV typically means I drink less of them which means I intake less calories.
Google at one point funded the company Fon to provide wifi access "to the world".....I even got a free router out of the deal. To abide by their policies, I had to provide an open channel to be used by any other Fon user, and the location of my hotspot was broadcast on their website as were all other users of the service.
Not sure why this got modded funny: I'd love to use this to find hotspots in places im unfamiliar with. Taking a trip to Delaware next Sunday? Where in the area will I be able to check my email?
Car analogy:
Every car comes from the factory tuned in a conservative manner regarding air/fuel mixture, spark advance.....even torque management and shift pressures/points (in the case of automatics) You are able to change these values for a greater increase in performance or fuel economy. This change (when pushed to the limit or performed incorrectly) can be risky and put extra strain on components of your vehicle.
I've heard lots of people with your same proposition lately, and I agree. What can you get on cable that can't be downloaded in some way? I don't follow it, but maybe high-def live sports?
I suppose you may be correct, but there are different "cultures" that are not represented by mainstream society that still buy stuff. Non-internet reliant people will fade out eventually, but they arent gone yet.
Yeah because she doesnt drive a cadillac, eat at nice restaurants or fund the local paper and cable companies for their content. She actually does all the above.
You could argue one person does not make a revenue stream, but a collection of people do.
For a new Metal Gear?
When you don't want to just sit around and have a few hours of fun with friends who may or may not be musically inclined.
You wouldn't happen to like Apple products would you? ;)
I know this is slashdot, and no one looks at the article, but there are several examples of very large cards fitting in very small cases.
for real. subtract the numbers, which is bigger? thats the correct answer. Percentages have no place in comparing actual performance.
Yes, thanks PA public school education :)

Point it towards other surveillance and see what it thinks is going on: "Car 1 is climbing on car 2 and repeatedly rearending it!"

Why do these ideas sound like they were loosely organized by a 5th grader?
And transportation technologies that preceded the car are not supported or relevent anymore?

My mother is not 60 years old yet and will NOT touch a computer. She is not alone.
