Why? Because they are conservative with lots of money influencing politics? Is it the "conservative" thing they don't like or the "lots of money" part? Because, if it is the latter, (and it is) then why aren't they targeting George Soros equally?

The left loves to trot out Koch Brothers, but neglects Soros and Hollywood, and the right does it in reverse. My only wish is that people make their viewpoints clear, and at least with both Koch and Soros, their allegiance is clear.

When I informed them that I was neither "drunk nor in public" they changed their tune to "resisting arrest" and "assault on police officer" later at the station. They had to fill out the booking sheet three times to get it right.

The problem for the cops was that their story didn't line up with the facts, I'm 6'5" and was 220 athletic build (swimmer), and trained in martial arts, and they were 5'6" and 165ish. IF I resisted and assaulted them, I would have killed them. The jury saw that they were lying and it took them longer to elect a foreman than it did to acquit.

It was so quick in fact that the lawyer told me that suck a quick return was not a good sign; that when juries come back quick it usually means a guilty verdict.

In the followup meeting with the lawyer, he said that I could probably sue, except that I was "white, male and middle class", meaning I wasn't important enough (rich) or of under privileged class (poor, darker skin) enough to win.

Income taxes are regressive, because the rich avoid them all together. You can tax the wealthy all you want, they will avoid those taxes every legal, and semilegal way they can. The poor and middle class do not have that option.

I propose a "transaction", where any transfer of $ gets taxed be it for goods, services, stock options, buying or selling. It would eliminate the Dutch Sandwitch tax avoidance game the big corporations play. Remember, all taxes are regressive, so let those who it hurt the most decide the tax rate, and pass a balanced budget amendment.

Second, it is because people price shop the last 45 cents off a $1500 TV, but don't think twice about paying $35 more for a cable. A long time ago, I used to work in sales, selling printers that cost $450 that people would shop around on, and drive 90 miles to the next big city to save $5 ($445). I'd either toss in the 50 cent cable or sell them the printer at cost and the cable for $14.95. Yes, I made more on the cable than I did the printer.

Pretty soon, brick n mortar stores will die off and you'll never be able to see an item before you order it, and/or you'll be complaining about the walmartization of cities that destroy local mom n pop stores. I know way to many people who complain about $4.50 cables costing $40 at brick n mortar and buying online, and then complain about lack of good jobs locally. Funny how that works.

Spending isn't the problem. Expectations of students, teachers and parents is. We expect poor students to be disfunctional, and we treat them that way. We give extra money (a ton of it) to "under performing" schools, while schools that are average or better do not get any "extra" anything. The result? Under performing schools continue to under perform to get the extra money they are accustomed to, and the others learn to do without.

There is absolutely no relation to extra spending and results in the classroom. None.

What I'd like to see is a metric of two sets of classrooms, one that gets all the extra money under performing schools get, and one where there is a very strict code for students, parents and teachers, with outlined expectations and consequences for not reaching expectations, but with no extra money.

Of course, some left wing loon would complain that isn't "fair". To them, I say sticking a child into a system designed with failure as a reward is not "fair".
