    There exists reasonable reasoning that can and does define worthy versus unworthy research efforts. Just watch some episodes of Myth Busters, they do a great job of conducting beneficial research without getting bogged down with unnecessary or wasted effort.

    "Reasonable reasoning"? Is that as opposed to unreasonable reasoning? Could you tell me the reason that some reasoning is reasonable and some reasoning is unreasonable? Or is that unreasonable of me to ask?

    Set up a bootcamp partition (Apps > Utils > Boot Camp Assistant) and give it the lion's share of the disk if it's going to be her primary OS and then install.

    Alternatively, if you are still on Mac OS X v10.6, you can give it the snow leopard's share of the disk. Thank you folks, I'll be here all week...

    Could you make this torrent source available any where else? My interest in using torrents is to avoid the block that my country puts on khanacademy.org, but if you torrent is on there too, I can't get to that either.

    You mean something like paper, printing, gunpowder, the compass, silk, not to mention acupuncture, anti-malarial drugs, banknotes, belt drives, the blast furnace, borehole drilling, bristle toothbrushes, bulkhead partitions on ships, cast iron, chopsticks, chromium, crossbows, fireworks, fishing reels, flamethrowers, gimbals, hybrid rice, kites, landmines, multi-stage rockets, negative numbers, playing cards, porcelain, restaurant menus, rotary fans, seismometers, stirrups, tea, tofu, toilet paper or wheelbarrows? I take it you would be happy to do without these Chinese inventions, or pay China a royalty for their use.

    I'm sure the launch was deliberate. Now, whether it was planned is a separate matter. Maybe some fault on a missile called for firing it to get rid of it, but that seems unlikely to me. Firing ICBMs is a VERY sensitive matter (if not coordinated with other major powers it certainly would trigger a serious alert and move towards nuclear readiness - not something ANYBODY wants to happen).

    Although I hate to judge before all the facts are in, it's beginning to look like General Ripper exceeded his authority.
