    have destroyed the record of the 2002 election, in defiance of federal law. they have stated that the election went smoothly.

    Right before the election, an uncertified patch was installed to all the voting machines in Georgia. There were some stunning upsets in the race. Saxby Chambliss and Sonny Perdue won in dramatic, come from behind fashion.

    the Libertarian party candidate has issued a formal request for the voting records, the ones that have been destroyed.

    How much power does a rack of Xserve consume compared to a rack of Intel chipped servers? How much more or less cooling is need for the same number machines? Energy costs should be figured in too.

    If anything, high energy consumption is a design flaw.

    Actually it does. It processes 30,000 letters an hour, with a very high accuracy rate. It routes the mail in the correct delivery sequence, takes out the forwards, and holds.

    Since QNX came on board, the techs have changed from Windows weenies, to big fans of QNX. the only time they have to mess with the machines is simple maintenance on the hardware, and QNX lets them know what needs attention and what needs to be realigned.

    the bulk of her story has been about the Diebold code, but soon this story will be veering off into another direction. stay tuned. I like the new direction because it involves people and money, not computer code.

    BTW, QNX is excellent. We use it at the post office for our letter sorting machines. It is rock solid.

    Exit polling was suspended in the 2002 election. The company that does the polling said there was serious problems with its methods, just days before the vote.

    BTW, their calls were good during the 2000 election and they were using the same system for the 2002 election. Why the change?

    You need to read the PNAC document, "Rebuilding America's Defenses", then tell me this this is a dead horse.

    What was released today is just the tip of the iceberg. Bev said it is just 10% of what is to follow.

    If we cannot trust the integrity of the vote, then our system will collapse. Democracy is based on trust and openness.

    Yes, Diebold and ES&S are both closely tied to the Republican party, and have been for a long time. If you look at their campaign contributions for the last election, you will see that everyone that gave, gave only to the GOP.

    Chuck Hagel still owns stock in ES&S's parent company. He has won every election that used ES&S machines to count the votes.

    It did seem funny that republicans in many races made remarkable surges on election day. I wonder why exit polls were suspended during the 2002 election?

    yeah, there are some nice subtle touches. I like them. The horizontal stripes are gone from the title bar, replaced with a rounded look. There's a bit more rounding on the corners too. The stripes are less pronounced.

    Part of the fun is speculating on what Jobs will pull out of his ass this time. Security is so tight at Apple, any hint of what is to be is big news.

    It is a game Mac users and others enjoy. Jobs is into the joke too. Watch his presentation, it is sheer entertainment. We know to expect the unexpected, and would be disappointed if the rumor sites were right.

    Even if you are not into Macs, it is worth it to watch his presentation. You will be learning from the master.

    I don't think Apple cares if you install their software on all the machines in the house. They do have a price for 5 home boxes, but they don't push it on you. Even their server software is very liberal in its licensing.
