    I do realize that, however they are only doing streaming in Canada.

    Netflix started mailing disks then started to transition to streaming. While in Canada it would cost me 4.50, near the $5 monthly fee from netflix, to download 1GB (~1 movie at CD quality).

    At DVD quality (4GB), they could buy you your own copy of the new release and ship it to you!

    This is just crazy. Why does this happen? Monopoly pricing. Btw, its better if they destroy the disk preferably with flames.

    A retail stamp is 57 cents, why doesnt netflix just mail it? Canada, the land of the oligopoly.

    For 4.50, they could burn->ship->self destruct a dvd and provide higher quality video.

    Are there any news sites that compile profiles and use articles more like change logs? While I'm making requests. A site for multidimensional debates, that lets you see different sources of facts and debate of their effects around them.

    A proxy system that allows you to give your vote, by issue, to another. This has many benefits:

    -a large amount of the votes still are cast
    -doesnt require everyone to be an expert on everything
    -if votes on one issue are concentrated in few enough hands, bargaining can occur

    How to transition to this form of government? Use it for local elections, its small scale and mistakes wont have a large effect. The transparency created would be welcome.

    Lies, android has problems that are hardware related. One such example is small onboard memory which meant you had to remove apps due to space requirements. Its taken till froyo for them to allow apps on external storage and until recently for a phone to have more than 1GB of onboard memory.

    The library is providing a free, near equivalent to their product. Therefore, few would pay for the companies product. An online library would require a huge shift in how the industry makes its profits, which brings with it huge risk of failure.

    I cant think of why it wasnt clear I was refering to the demand for the companies product.

    Its not a god given right, but it is a legally granted right for him to control the distribution of his work.

    I dont think I know of any god given rights, for example who knows if physics will implode tomorrow. We deal with what we have and the legal framework is suppose to help.

    This kill switch would kill nearly all communications (phones etc). This leads me to believe it will target specific types of communication.

    Notice how Zogby's survey only mentions "the media" and not specific companies. With the most noticeable of the media being television news and not the new york times. This is a wide class of companies with very different goals.

    Apple, microsoft and google are engineering companies that create products with a function. Usually that function is achieved with minimal hick ups. News is very often opinionated and wrong.

    PS might this be an online poll?

    You may try to apply moore's law to things other than cpus, but that doesnt make it happen. The frequency of the news articles shows only a huge demand by consumers and researches need for funding.
