Take Jade Empire. There is not a Good or Evil side to the story, but the "Path of the Closed Fist" takes a lot of steps I would never use.

With WoW it is no different in most aspects. One of the exceptions is the Tauren race. They aren't evil at all. They value honor and virtue. They're nomadic. They don't like the Alliance because mainly the Alliance wants to carve up/out the planet and distort nature. I find it very easy to play as the Tauren, but the Orcs, Undead, and Trolls I still shy away from. Heck, I don't even like playing the humans.

I don't care what the product is, if it's sharing memory for the onboard Intell-built integrated processor, it IS NOT a gaming machine. At least throw in something from the low end Radeons. Mine was swiped too, and I didn't even find out about it for about three months (had some overdrafts). Turns out this kid subscribed to some porn site that was pulling 60 bucks a month! I wasn't pleased.

I went into the bank and all they told me was they could put the funds under investigation and it would take up to 90 days to take care of. During that time I wouldn't have my money and that it wasn't likely that anything would happen. I called the companies customer service and argued the charges for about half an hour. They said they could cancel. I threatened legal action. They said it wouldn't work. I said I could prove that I never signed up for thier services, or used them because I log my IPs, and informed them it was THEIR resposability to verify ID, not mine. This is what did it. Charges refunded, overdrafts paid (and the bank refunded them too, got 60 bucks out of the deal).

Lately companies have been working harder at verifying ID, but they're also more adamant about not taking responsibility. Rather than the bank having responsability, I think, legally, if you can prove that it wasn't you, the store should be responsible.

What pisses me off is people that don't buy any of their music (and in college, when Napster came out, in a week I went from a fast connection to borrowing my parents' dial-up account because of all the bastards hogging bandwith... napster was finally blocked about 6-8 months in, but it didn't help as there were a bunch of students with off-site proxys). But that's a matter of principles. I'm not concerned if random successful band X gets my money, they won't notice a few thousand people downloading a few songs, but they will notice when one guy buys their music and gives it to a few thousand people, over and over. Bands on smaller labels don't see a lot of money. A lot of the time these guys' talent is off the charts when compared with mainstream music or even the Paul Van Dykes and Crystal Methods.

As far as I understand, it's not a price issue. There may not even be any decompression chips (or research) that will allow more than one decompression at a time. Sure, maybe you could run the music throught the chip, but then sound effects and voice would be sacrificed. We're talking about timing here.

MP3 doesn't take a static delay in decompression, so you would have to buffer every possible sound/voice and BGM at the same time, then trash it and buffer anything else, say when you move your charecter two steps to the left into a puddle of water. Then there's the echo effect. Too much money in research when there's already a working standard.

That, and people will whine about quality of the sounds/music too. Voice and some effects wouldn't be hindered, but music heavey base and treble wouldn't sound as good (once you hear the difference once, it's hard not to notice).

As far as Ogg Vorbis decompression, I have no clue, I don't use it.
