When I play minecraft, it is certainly a game. I set my own goals for construction and work within the framework provided by the game to achieve it. It's fun. I'm not sure what you're missing.
This is the kind of thing that can make women feel uncomfortable. It's tough for men to understand typically, but it's belittling. The reaction a woman often gets when they complain about these things is very dismissive, which makes the whole thing much worse.
I think the bottom line is that in an open source project, you want to attract talent. Be disrespectful of females, and you lose access to a lot of potential talent. It's a bad move even if you don't understand why it's offensive.
It's been stated that the display on the controller is actually streamed from the console in real time. Apparently, this makes the controllers more affordable: they are dumb and probably don't have much in the way of storage.
Based on how I've been playing the DS for the last few years, I really don't think that's a problem. The controller is said to be lighter than it looks, so I think lifting one hand to touch a button on the touch screen would feel as natural as using a tablet.
What is the difference between a gimmick and a new feature?
It seems everything Nintendo does is called a "gimmick" ever since the Wii was announced. I don't get it. A gimmick is something designed to lure others in... in other words, anything worthwhile about their products is a gimmick.
Perfectly understood, but all I meant to say was that the targeted isn't as bad as only 4.5%.
If you're going to pick a single country to deploy a service initially, you could only do better with coverage if you picked China. There are obvious reasons a company like Google would not do that, though.
There is such a thing as a specialized science journalist, though. Carl Zimmer is a good example.
It's probably much cheaper for a news outlet to ask more generalized writers to summarize science stories though, and misunderstandings are inevitable then.
What? Is this true!?
It's so strange how some game development studios seem hellbent on abandoning everything that their fans enjoy. It seems to happen very often.

I think he's trying to say voxels, not vertexes.

Seriously embarrassed by what, exactly?

As long as you can save images to your hard drive, that isn't actually fixable.
Then it would be similar to creating your own browser to get the other browser makers to improve their javascript and rendering engines, like Chrome.

I would indeed pay $5 for an apple if it meant that the workers made a living wage and were protected by safety regulations.
Diaspora does this with the whole "aspects" thing. I really, really want that to take off...
I don't think anything about wikileaks has ever been censored in the US. If I'm wrong, I want to know though...
Not good enough.
The burden of proof is on the one making the positive claim.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that Nintendo knows a lot more about what they're doing than you do.

IGN's hands on says it's light and comfortable to hold. I think we should hold off judgement until we can hold them ourselves.

Good. Abort 'em all, I say.

The whole "Google voice to replace skype" argument is void if you live outside the US (95.5% of the world).
It's a small and insignificant point... but while the US has about 4.5% of the world's population, it has 12.2% of the world's internet users.
Aw, did someone hurt your feelings?
