No one gets cable modem so they can use their shitty portal. If thats all youre going to do, you'd be fine with AOL. People get it for the speed and the constant connection. Imagine if @home had 7 more billion dollars right now. They probably wouldnt be in this situation.
So I could care less about what goes on between excite and at&t. were better off without excite. If this means at&t is 300 million dollars richer, maybe that will translate into less rate hikes in the future.
I was pleasantly surprised that my internet service (att@home) was not interupted at all here in portland oregon, but i seem to be having DNS problems... after about 10-20 minutes of browsing the web, suddenly all sites that i try to go to that i havent been to yet, cant be found. tihs happens on my mac and pc and its really irritating. the only thing to do is either wait a while or restart the computer.
at least my machines will have smaller firewall logs!

That makes no sense. excite now has permission to "reject" the contracts that are "expiring" on the same day. Isn't that how it's always worked? If a contract expires, it is not valid again until both sides agree to the terms of a new one?
