Since the take over of the American airwaves by Clear Channel I have noticed that most people have changed their radio listening habits, not decreased them.
I changed my listening habits from local stations to a Rio Karma + RF adapter. All music, all the time. No irritating commercials or inane DJs, and substandard tracks are summarily deleted.
Loading from the legendary Commodore C64 disk drive was load "something",8,1. From the tape drive it was,1,1.
To be completely pedantic, the Commodore LOAD command takes parameters in the form:
LOAD [a],[b],[c]
Where 'a' is the program name ($ = directory, * = first program/last accessed), 'b' = device number (1 = tape, 8 = first disk drive), and 'c' = code relocation (0 = load to start of BASIC, 1 = use load address in file header). If you leave off all three parameters, it defaults to loading the next program from the tape drive. Today's useless information brought to you by the letters C, B, and M.
He could have just....talked to her, but noooo - he had to go and write a program to do it.
Typical lazy programmer. For instance, somebody sent me some ROT-13 encoded text the other day, and I was too lazy to decode it manually or find a program, so I wrote my own decoder in Javascript..:)
Warning: that plover.com link is definately NSW.
Might be more obvious if 'beta' and 'better' actually sounded alike.
Now - which language gets the dung beetle?
I nominate BASIC.. it's slow, ugly, and does jobs no self-respecting language wants to perform. Nevertheless, it fills a niche in the ecosystem.

I'd say it's more like a rustbucket held together with Fisher-Price bumper stickers.
Can we browse the web in opengl at 1600x1200 with video commercials in stereo everywhere instead instead of images?
No, thank Bob.
Yeah, but is it Free-as-in-Speech?
That's why I love FireFox's Javascript prefs which can prevent shenanigans like resizing the browser window. I agree it's a horrible "site" though.
I just watched the remastered _A New Hope_, and during the sandtrooper scene, all I could think of was the immortal words of Dark Helmet:
"Comb the desert!"I sense a great disturbance in the force.. as if thousands of MySQL connections cried out in anguish, then were silenced.
Which one is the CowBoyNeal option?
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all different.

> HELPOr just use the BugMeNot Firefox extension.

What, no Armagetron? ;)
I thought they were bringing back Family Guy?

As a software engineer in Maui..
Damn, talk about tough gigs. I don't suppose your company is hiring? ;)
I know, what a looser. Who's the moran who spell checked this story anyway?
Sorry, I was trying to be funny. And by 'collage student' I meant the guy in your story, not yourself. Sheesh.
Free as in shareware. No thanks.
My circa 2000 Armada M700 diagrees with your assertion. The battery is shot, but that's forgiveable in a 4 year old notebook.
Just what I'd expect from a collage student.
Zapp: Remember our mission is simple: Destroy all aliens!
[Kif weakly raises his hand.]
Kif: Um, uh, not me sir.
Zapp: Oh yes, right. Nobody destroy Kif...(quietly) unless you have to.
Ooh, I love legitimate theater!
