    I nominate BASIC.. it's slow, ugly, and does jobs no self-respecting language wants to perform. Nevertheless, it fills a niche in the ecosystem.

    Since the take over of the American airwaves by Clear Channel I have noticed that most people have changed their radio listening habits, not decreased them.

    I changed my listening habits from local stations to a Rio Karma + RF adapter. All music, all the time. No irritating commercials or inane DJs, and substandard tracks are summarily deleted.

    That's why I love FireFox's Javascript prefs which can prevent shenanigans like resizing the browser window. I agree it's a horrible "site" though.

    Loading from the legendary Commodore C64 disk drive was load "something",8,1. From the tape drive it was ,1,1.

    To be completely pedantic, the Commodore LOAD command takes parameters in the form:

    LOAD [a],[b],[c]

    Where 'a' is the program name ($ = directory, * = first program/last accessed), 'b' = device number (1 = tape, 8 = first disk drive), and 'c' = code relocation (0 = load to start of BASIC, 1 = use load address in file header). If you leave off all three parameters, it defaults to loading the next program from the tape drive. Today's useless information brought to you by the letters C, B, and M.

    He could have just....talked to her, but noooo - he had to go and write a program to do it.

    Typical lazy programmer. For instance, somebody sent me some ROT-13 encoded text the other day, and I was too lazy to decode it manually or find a program, so I wrote my own decoder in Javascript.. :)

    My circa 2000 Armada M700 diagrees with your assertion. The battery is shot, but that's forgiveable in a 4 year old notebook.
