Driving while intox is much, much lower than it was back 30 years ago. The big issue these days in law enforcement isn't the drunks, it's the people smeared on drugs. There's been a huge jump in crashes relating to people either smeared on prescrip meds, or smeared out on stuff like LSD, coke or heroin.
Yes, these days. That would be 20 years or so. There was a point back in the 80's when what was reported actually reflected the events in hand. Things got better after the 70's, and hit shit again in the 90's.
Journalists don't have a clue. Which is why from law to science reporting is garbage. From why fruit flies die so quickly, to anything in relation to climate or weather, to why bad guy X got 5yrs in jail for insert crime here. From a lawish point of view let me add this, every once and awhile I spend time in court being a witness for this, or that, or something else. There's always some reporter, from some news agency there if it's anything big. I will tell you now, if I wasn't in the court myself, I'd have no clue that the article I was reading had any relation to the case, if my name wasn't in there somewhere.
That's how far removed reporting is from reality these days.
Except that Fujitsu tried to claim that since they were shutting down one division, there was no case to pay creditors or people owed refunds for products that failed. They attempted to spin off the unit completely and form it into a new-separate company with 0 capital and 0 money for creditor repayment.
As someone else mentioned, if you have one of these cards and indeed they are winding down. You should file to be put on their creditors list. Back when Fujitsu got out of the HDD business, I got a money from part of the class action lawsuit I joined, for drive failures. But I was also on their HDD creditor list for several other drives they refused to cover. In the end I got the money I was owed for them(around 18 drives).
Anyway, I've had no shortage of problems from card manufactures the last couple of years and trying to get them to honor their warranty. From MSI to PNY, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of companies trying to screw people off either, however the other obvious way you can get at least some of your money is to go to you local court, and file a suit under small claims. In most case you'll see your money, because they'd rather just get rid of you than go to court(which costs them even more). That was the only way I could get MSI to "cover" my warranty, and by cover I mean fully refund the price of the card when it was new.
The entire story is sketchy because you have the right idea. ICE has no care or dealings with kiddie porn, they deal with immigration, lack thereof, or employment of illegals. Even kiddie porn the FBI doesn't deal with unless there's a major reason(such as a ring), it's left to the state level(state police, or even local enforcement).
Living in Ontario, I heartily agree. I'll be however, that if you look at most of the schools you'll find one of a few things. Either they have new or recent construction and made airtight(trapping fumes). The buildings are full of toxic mold, which is pretty common around here(again probably renno'd and then made airtight). Or, you may have a school built on one of a variety unique places, like garbage dumps, or some type of toxic gas outlet-which isn't being vented properly. Again that's pretty damn common around here. Or you could be dealing with one of several other dozen things.
One thing I've noticed living in Ontario for a long time is people here really go through states of sickness in groups here. Why, I don't know but it hits everyone around the same time. The day before, everyone is alright the following day part of the office is feeling bleh, down, and nauseous. That of course is just observation, but having lived here for 25 years and spent a few years in other places.
Funny story. I was doing my apprentice ship for a mechanic split between two shops, one day a guy rolls in with a spare and a fully blown out tire. I mean so blown out that various parts of the sidewall were missing, and the tread section was partially torn from the tire.
Well that was fine, we sometimes see catastrophic failures of tires due to mechanical defects which is what this looked like. But in this case no. Checking the other 3 tires on the car, they'd been inflated to 110psi. Fun stuff, I'm surprised he didn't blow 2-3 more on the way over. Needless to say, they didn't honor his warranty.
Don't get me wrong, I like that the ECM's do a good job at things like variable engine timing, and valve position delays. But the way some of it is tied in is annoying to say the least. Especially when you can break the entire emissions system in some cars by removing a ground wire. MAF's yeah, there's some uniquely screwy stuff they can do including mess with the mixture and other stuff. The double O2 well if automakers were serious about it, they'd all have gone to a pre-heat O2 sensor to improve the worst part of a cars startup, when it's cold.
Except you can easily bypass BCM's and the passkey system without even tryin. It's not exactly difficult, and this goes with all of the automakers because they all have some version of a BCM and key-code specific keys. Personally computerization of cars is one of my biggest pet peeves. By adding so much that can cause a car to go wrong is insane.
A fine example: My car is running like shit(random stalls, high/low idle swings, etc), having an idea on how to do my own diagnostics I can track this problem down. So this sounds like one of few different problems on most cars. O2 sensor(either upper or lower), bad PCV valve/control circut, bad cam/crank. But really it was caused by a failed upper engine temperature sensor($25). A bad UET sensor caused all of it. Now for the non-standard stuff that a bad UET sensor causes: Automatic power-down mode of onboard electronics, including ABS and traction control, low-power mode for radio, auto-kill of AC and display control panel.
I liked it when cars were simple, and I could figure out what was wrong by listening to them. Well I still can to a point, but way, way, way too much fucking electronics in them now.
Nor would I. But India's parliament doesn't exactly work the same way as others do, and many of them are behind the times on their core understanding of technology. Even more-so then in other countries, where government lags on average of 10yrs behind both what the public is saying/thinking, and what they should actually be doing.
Wait, let me get this right. You're attempting and poorly to compare executions for actual serious crimes(murder, lots of murder, lots of murder and rape, etc) against people. To a 8yr old girl being 'executed' for learning how to read and write.
Yeah kinda having a problem with the whole thing there.
Well lot of people these days won't get obituaries in the paper. They're too expensive, I've posted about that before. Lot of places are charging over $400 for 1-2 days. Really if they wanted to make it simple, they could go with a sworn affirmation, or a "reasonable copy" of the death certificate.
Well we all know the Taliban really enjoyed killing anyone who was against them. Their favorite method in the past was public executions by gunfire in the 'ol soccer grounds. These days it's taking them into the bushes and filling their bodies full of bullets and dumping them out on the road. And if you're female, and "rise above your station" you can get anything from acid in the face, and your fingers/hands cut off along with other forms of mutilation to being killed.
Dunno in my neck of the woods my MP reads all of his mail, his email is handled by his secretary. He's been doing a pretty good job for the last 8 years we've had him(considering he was a very well liked police chief), who got what he stated, done.
Well here's the difference. One agrees to be a soldier, a terrorist, unarmed combatant and so on. Along with all the end-be-alls that come with it. The other doesn't and is caught up within the confines of war. Others want the war to end, to route out those that are ruining their way of life, or are in general in between and just trying to make it by.
At worst the guy is guilty of negligent homicide. At worst culpable homicide for every 'informants' name he released. There's a reason why in the last 800 years the rules of war developed so that even if civilians are in a warzone, they're still somewhat protected.
Morse however is still required to get your HAM. And when shit hits the fan, it's not amateur radio that EMS comes running to it's the guys on their own backup HAM broadcasts. Regardless of that, it's still required for a lot of things(various licenses, law based promotion requirements, etc).
Anywho, being in my 30's as well. There's a definate shift in the way youth of today and the youth of my generation communicated. The kids of today see the net(and cells) as an extension of always being connected, there for never having to be not connected. Myself, I see that even when the net was blowing up in our faces, we were only connected when we were together.
Besides, you should know that c-kermit was the driving multi-use protocol when manufactures, and developers were having a wild-eyed shitfit over who should reign supreme.
I'll point out the obvious living in Canada. We have massive chunks of ice floating around every summer. This isn't new, stuff breaking off glaciers isn't new. Or shelves, or anything else. This is a yearly norm occurrence.
Beh. Proper english can be taught in 30hrs at the community college level. I know, as I didn't get any proper form of edumudcation while in school(yet somehow I managed to get through life just fine), you were taught maybe 1-2 days, a year and by the time you hit highschool you were expected to be proficient. The interesting thing is, I've seen worse with the kids of today then what we got from my generation.
Regardless, the GP is right. Companies pushing for a BS and so on for entry level, are simply being dense. It's the same as requiring a BS to be a garbageman, or mechanic. I've done the latter, not the former, and I've got two different BS's. For the former the ability to grunt work is a plus, for the latter, being able to creatively think of what's causing the problem is a plus.

Considering overall about 20% of people these days have any trust in the media, I agree. He's probably got the right idea.

It's fun to note that California buys a lot of power from 2 places, other US states and Canada.

No he'll try to convert you to scientology, jump up and down on your couch, then try to kill you.
Maybe they could try something productive then. Like brewing beer, or making a new form of paper.

Yeah, women learning. Nothing good comes from it.

Well yes it is a slow news year. The whole economy sliding into a depression might have escaped your notice.

Dunno. I've been seeing a lot of unique stuff recently like hebrew, chinese, japanese, and vertical lettering.
