i bought Samba for Windows Administrators, which is not terribly in depth but nonetheless, it's more up to date than most anything else i could find...
i did have javascript off, turned it on, and then it seemed like it would work. but then (at least for the ones i tried) i just got the "Not in Archive" message.... *sigh*
i just said slack as an example; it's what i use. if you want something more desktop user oriented you could use mdrake or suse. however, you should just set up several dumb terminals and run the whole deal from one server (cost effective).
or you could just pay (hah) for all of those win2k client licenses.
um not really, both of you. slack works (for me, maybe i'm just NOT a dumbass) off of the cd pretty much perfectly, and any idiot could click the pretty widgets and make kde work nicely.
...only windows machines. get your facts straight.
This does not affect the
non-Windows versions, because the non-Windows versions currently do
not yet support the feature that this vulnerability occurs in.
windows clients, i can live with it. however, samba has evolved to the point where it's a better domain master than NT, so NT is gone. all of the other misc servers (mail, a few databases, web) are linux. everyone can use the databases from windows with the simple ODBC drivers and our custom VB (ack) programs. everyone is happy. i am happy.
doesn't carry Futurama unfortunately (i have no idea why, the simpsons and m in the middle are on every sunday)....so i've been missing out anyhow
well, fuck anonymity....dumbass
what about non profits? how does the BSA treat them, or is it no different that corps
(anon to protect myself)
quit it, i'm getting goosebumps thinking about that
really, me too. i was hoping for more dirty details, but it is for windows admins ;)
the chapter on moving from NT to a samba-based PDC is good tho, all in all, i was able to do just that with our network here

you could always use some "transparent aluminum" :)
it's also adware, so feh.
in the hands of a clueless sysadmin, anything is insecure

Score: -1, Misleading
too bad it's just full of links to the old site (which doesn't exist)
uh..
if you know where to get iPaqs for $100 each, *please* tell us!
yeah, right

not to be a dick, but slack 8 + kde 2.2 can be installed and working in less time that it takes to install win2k.
...and see all of the KDE developers looking back at you!

slackware users can build things from source, we don't need pussy package managers
incredible, i have the same "handicap", and the same effects...

konqueror 2.2.1 (not Lynx or something) starts in 2 seconds on my computer (a P3/450 with 376M of ram).
i think that's more than acceptable.
no, it's called using your monopoly power to fuck everyone else
um, no.
Its getting clearer and clearer that Wells was only off by 8 or 9 years with respect to BigBrother.
i think you mean Orwell, not Wells.
try editing the source maybe? i dunno, i use a sensible mail client (pine or kmail).
