I'd agree that KDE and Gnome should be collaborating, but I sincerely hope that the GTK widget set wins through at the end of the day.
gtk is all blocky and and ugly looking, while qt is streamlined and smooth. if you're ever gonna convert all the windrones over to linux, it's gotta look pretty...
i can't even *begin* to fathom how this got published. binhex (hqx) is a COMPRESSED FILE, not an executable! if it decompressed it and then ran the installer, or some other binary without checking first, then we'd have a problem.
i just started a new job, for a non-profit. it doesn't pay a lot, but being on a ranch, isolated in western montana is nice compensation. here we have a lake within 100 feet of my front door, nice people, horses, lots of fun.
my position here is basically maintaining the network, as well as the database and web servers, as well as writing new software which keeps our organization together. i'm rather enjoying it after 3 weeks.
don't fret folks, there still are enjoyable, fun tech jobs out there - i plan on staying with.orgs as long as i can.
isn't this kinda like Adobe including language in their Photoshop EULA that forbids the use of the software in conjunction with pornography (as in editing photos) or child pornography (as in drawing your own kiddie porn)?
Gnome or KDE on Slackware would be kinda hard without a good package management system... well, okay, not that hard... but it wouldn't be as easy to resolve dependancies with a system that doesn't have that capability.
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde/ && make
... six pack...
su
make install
nope, not that hard - tho slack (tgz) packages would be nice.
hello? GnuPG? maybe you've heard of it....
hey if you wanna buy fry-mumia.com, i own it!
PLEASE for god's sake, merge ext3 into the kernel. it's nice and stable, and i'm sick of patching.
how about the duplo blocks for toddlers? they're big.
you can quite easily edit what file types UltraEdit associates itself with in the Advanced > Configuration > File Associations menu
for some reason, i laughed quite hard upon reading this, tho i have no idea who Ryan Christiansen is.
that's bs. i've had the an aqua theme in kde, with icons and the whole deal for some time, too.

kmail is much better than balsa, imho
scuse me, but IIS is not the most widely used webserver, by any measure - apache is.

that's pretty cool...i don't particularly like MS business policies, however i never doubted that they treat their employees quite well

if they don't ask for licenses, the BSA might move in and try to shut down their little operation.
i've been listening to an NYPD shoutcast stream, and they're talking about a possible day care center collapsing (?). does anyone have news on this?
