Is anyone with Russian IP address a Russian citizen?
Can a German residing in Russia have their personal data kept elsewhere?
Do users have to state their nationality?
Do they have to provide a copy of passport or a national ID document when registering?
I think that ultimately the users should have some choice of where their data is stored.
A Russian can trust the US government more than their own government and so ask the data to be stored in the US.
Likewise, an American can trust Russia more than the US, etc.
But maybe this is not what the Russian government (and many other governments) would like.
Also, stateless nations have rights to self determination, not arbitrary geographical areas.
As an additional point, Kosovo is an independent state now.
But Crimea was immediately absorbed by Russia.
To start with, most of Ukraine military bases were in the west of country, not the east. That's the legacy from the USSR times.
Care to name at least one base where tanks or MLRS-s could be captured?
And also compare that to the first reported uses by the "separatists" of MLRS-s and tanks.
You make interesting points that make it even more puzzling that the Western companies keep going to China for manufacturing needs and do (did) that more and more.

And to the traditional Unix pace of development. Despite having much fewer committees.

It's almost like someone (or something) is watching me.
This started after I commented on one of politically charged topics.
A Ukrainian-Soviet writer Mykola Trublaini foresaw ("invented", in a certain sense) a hyperloop-ish concept in his novel The Deep Path ("Glibinniy shlyah" in an approximate transliteration).
Trublaini's idea had an interesting twist, his vacuumed tunnel was a straight line from one point on the surface of the Earth to another. And given that the Earth's surface is a sphere (an imperfect one), if those points are far enough, then it's possible to take advantage of the Earth's gravitation to travel between those points in a pendulum-like fashion.
And, indeed, the best place to build such a path is a country that stretches for thousands of kilometers. Just like the USSR of Trublaini's time or the modern day Russia in the east-west dimension or India in the north-south dimension. Building such a tunnel would be, of course, an immense undertaking. But it is not impossible as long as the tunnel is not too close to the mantle:-) So, unfortunately, no Rio de Janeiro - Tokyo express or a US - Australia link.
P.S.
In the Trublaini's novel the deep path was used to quickly transfer troops and materiel from the European part of the USSR to its Far East territories to the surprise of the Japan militarists who were about to invade the USSR. The novel was written just before the WWII broke out.
P.P.S.
Trublaini was killed on a front line in 1941, he was a war correspondent at the time.
P.P.P.S.
Unfortunately, there does not seem to be much information about Trublaini in English.
Proprietary ZFS also grew a number of features and enhancements.
For example, OpenZFS is just growing the encryption support while the proprietary ZFS has had it for several years.

This is one of the most ridiculous arguments against DST I have ever heard.
People who sync to the Sun don't care about the clocks, DST or not.

The forum was for teens, the television programs was a news program, not a kids show.

Is it really that common? Most firewalls I've seen run either custom Linux or a specialized OS. Very few run any BSD.

Keeping the ISS afloat means we don't have money for other projects, like the stupid wall. That does nothing for the science and humanity.
The msmash, you are very old-fashioned. A message from Ukraine.
British music has been and still is way better.
You are correct. I think that AMD calls it ASID for Address Space IDentifier.
How about ECC? And how many PCI-E lanes are there? TFA seems to be thin on details about aspects where Intel doesn't shine.

And most of the European countries must be obeying the US Senators, if we were to agree with your reasoning.
That's a big *if*, right? I mean always vs once.
Did you actually mean Antonov?
How long before Trump says that? He has already spoken his mind on vaccination.
Your theories completely ignore what people of Ukraine wanted.
But compare those sanctions to what was promised in the Budapest Memorandum.
Nevertheless, Obama's reset after what Russia did in Georgia in 2008 paved way to what Russia did next.
