Some of the chipsets used have not been implemented
in the kernel code for that specific architecture yet.
It's being worked on by an Admiral group of folks.
Sun would probably install Linux on it for you...
IF
1) They were interested in linux.
2) They completed the port to this hardware
3) They can train their support staff to
handle the sudden increase in tech
support calls.
Not that I mind, since I'm one of those who's
still waiting for 2 other things.....
1) Completed port to the new chipsets
2) 1K to get one of my own.

First off... yes.. you can play
with a p-200 and a 28.8 connection..
but it's gonna suck so bad you'll hate the game.
They just updated the game engine to use
directx 7.0a so be damn sure your hardware
works with those types of games.

already overloaded. *sigh*

a dell for a high end server?
Any sane admin konws that REAL hardware
is built to order out of GENERIC parts instead

SDram still has a ways to go... figure 200mhz will be enough to hold us out for a few years at least.. then in the meantime the server boys can suck up the developmental costs of Rdcram and push the prices down to a reasonable level for us desktop users and hopefully get the bugs worked out of it in the meantime.
