you know how on tax forms it has a little check box (give $1 to Democratic or Republican election cpagain) I think that all of the major orgnizations that get their funding from the federal goverment should be listed on the tax form (i'd give a buck a year to get us into space --hell, i'd probably give 100 bucks a year for it)
thiis would also allow other groups to get funding based on their popularity (don't like literacy programs or the NEA --don't check that box)
The guy never said anything about NT. Just because Linux is not suited (perfectly) to enterprise servers now --doesn't mean that NT is either. Jeez, it's not nessasarily a linux or NT fight here.
especially since, with computer makers the profit is made on the sale of the box, while for sony, nintendo, and sega, the profits are made on the liscensing fees on the programs. the game machines are usually sold at a loss. Also, the "top of the line" life of a console is longer than that of a pc.
If sony was smart, with the PSX2 they would make it damn easy for some one to get online (out imac the imac) the psx has usb ports right? so you could hook up a printer, a zip or hardrive, and have a pretty capable computer.
now to go offtopic: has anyone been to www.slashdot.com lætely? i went there by accident, and i got an ad for a cable wire company.
something like the iPowerbook or something I'm guessing.... wonder if it'll fail like the eMate... i hope not, Apple makes nice notebooks and i could use a new one (and i don't like the qality of the current 999 notebook jobs)
put a mandatated cap on what an line provider can charge for providing an ip and broadband connection (like maybe 9.95 ) and then anyone provides other services(usenet, email, Voice)
i see something like (2 cents an email, 5 centsw a minute voice, 3 usd to acess usenet)
I don't think that it's quite a bbs yet. It still needs a random section (where someoen could ask any question they want....
...like "What did russia have planned during the space race for their landing if anything?"
just my 2

unfortuently antennae don't awlays work. When I lived in NYC, we had cable (but no cable channels) only because it was impossible to get anything but fuzz. When I lived on long island if i didn't have cable the only stations i could get were the garden city pbs and one conneticut v station.
trust me I tried to use all sorts of antannae before we signed Cablevision's contract (the evilest bastards in the world until recently, when they've acutally improved things and upgraded all of the island to a fiber optic line (the cable modem's great))
My mother (who was a primary school teacher when she was younger) told me once that the reason that schools in America were so awful was because of the increased econimic liberties of women. Teachers, if they took their degrees and went into the workforce, would make many times more money. When the only jobs women could commonly get were secratarial work, nursing, and teaching, we go many talented and intelligent women in teaching. However, the pay is awful, my mother had to leave teaching and go into bookeeping/administrative duties, so that we could live in NYC (where my dad worked and where my sister and i went to school)
I'd presonally love to be a high school teacher, but the salary is so riduclous. Raise the salary to nearly the same level as college proffessors and you will get better teachers -- i think.
maybe, I'm entirely off base, but that's my base...

yeah, i know for a fact there is a registry key floating around on the hax0r boards that allows you to disable other's accept confirmation messages.

And Vice Versa:

Nvidia has always loved directx bnecuase their cards beat arch rival's 3dfx at direct3d.
I doubt they want direct 3d gone
I just got it the wrong way aroudn SGi has the manufacturing capabilities... ooops
you could use a wireless ethernet (although you might need a fair number of access nodes)
this is a great idea.

what's it mean?
could you do this with a cellphone with an ir link and a palm?
I think'd just need a plastic cradle (to keep the devices in Ir contact)
and a driver probably.......
