I beleive one most important issue is implementing IRV on all levels, because it is the way to have Green Party and everyone else outside of two major parties have a say in this country on any other issue at all. So, knowing that you do support IRV, I am asking: do you have a plan to make it a reality? It does seem hardly feasible to me since the two major parties (who are in control) would obviously be reluctant to change a system which supports their monopoly.
the thing may be that with both Linux and AMD one of the reasons to choose them may be the unwillingness to go with the mainstream. It is that way for me anyway. So there certainly is a correlation.
Since you mentioned chess top-500 I would like to point out to you that that list is also largely dominated by ex-Soviet Union players (many of they currently living elsewhere). Compare that to how much of earth's population SU had. Does that mean that people from SU play chess better due to some biological reasons? No. That is mostly caused that chess was (and probably is) very widely popular and cultivated in Russia. And out of that widespread popularity many realy gread players emerged. Same goes for why men dominate the list. Mostly because it is considered to be more "boys' thing" and so more boys get involved and their involvment with chess is seen more seriously by their parents and by themselves. And so from those masses some really great players emerge.
I am pretty sure more or less the same goes for CS.
... because you can't seriously expect that kind of crap to sell. I think they did solely because Taiwan (or was it another country?) demanded that MS would provide a stripped-down version of windows, so MS "complied" in such a way that it is hard to say that they did not, but for all practical purposes they did not. Taiwan, of cauorse, meant a version of windows without explorer and media player bundled (and maybe smth else) and that's it, but MS interpreted that their own way.
Local Vulnerbility for Windows is pretty much an oxymoron - once you've got on a windows box you probably have full control (in most cases anyway, yes you can restrict access on a windows box, but how often is that the case?).
Exactly. How about signed/encrypted email too? Tt has the same problem as his proposal - everyone has to use it first and you need to get a key first...
Anyway I was kinda disappointed because I was expecting to see some not-really-working-but-at-least-new-idea (and having a tiny secret hope that he might propose something that could work) and instead bumping into some wheel-reinvention BS....
This is true, BUT SCO does not get the money, but people who holds the stock (for example our beloved Darl) do get it. So it may not be "SCO", but people at SCO...
I doubt competitors can benefit by using info from driver sources. And you also seem to be contradicting yourself - on one hand can improve it but the engineers, on the other hand competitors can abuse it somehow... This really does not add up. I beleive the real reason is plain old beaurocracy.
I guess you (and other like you) need to get an explicit statement from the new company that they do not currently have that "license" from SCO (without publicity) and are not going to get one.
I believe this clearly crosses the line where "word twisting" becomes blatant lie. I do not see any way to read "EV1Servers.Net joins other Fortune 1000 companies" other than meaning than that it is one of Fortune 1000.
The problem with your idea is that chances are all these people will be driving pretty much at the same times in the same places, getting in all the same traffic jams. So relistically you will get good redundunt coverage of "popular" jams and "blind spots" everywhere else....
if some courts believe that Lindows cannot use it's name because it sounds too similar to "Windows", would they also agree that "XP reloaded" cannot be used since it sounds like WB's movie?
"My lawyer adviced me that it would be a better investment than SCO stock".
well, maybe, but I do not see how this would be a very good investment. When it all goes down on them I would not expect them to have much money left, so it would just be a bad debt...

we all know that _real_ reason for this mission is to deliver a piece of metal to an alien stuck on Titan.
would you like frys with that?
mod parent down
THAT WAS A JOKE
It looks like we are well into "Then they fight you " stage. Is victory in sight?
I HATE MANURE!
You call this a SCO story?
gone are those days! we used to have a REAL SCO story every day back then...

too late! it already exists and is called Alternative Minimum Tax
I believe you misunderstood him. As other posters noted he most likely means that company stopped providing cell phones to employees

... you really see what you want to see. I almost jumped with joy, but then reread.... And I do not care about Dell.
Now can MS finally be taken to court for this for "unfair competition" (how else would you call that?). Who is supposed to to that? attorney general?
How are they going to control that? Like DeCSS?
All fees must be submitted in the form of microwaved 20-dollar bills in a plastic bag.
