  2. Solution for this on Scalpers Bought Tickets With CAPTCHA-Busting Botnet · · Score: 2

As ohers have previously said, the problem here is that the tickets prices were not high enough (in a free market sense).

The solution would be to sell the tickets at the right price, that is, the price consumers are willing to pay.

I think a system like this would do the job

    1. The day tickets go on sale, charge an outrageous amount (say, $100,000).
    2. Then gradually decrease prices each day (or even every hour)
    3. Last day the tickets would go on sale for $1

In that way, each person would decide which is the "right" price to pay. Do you *really* want to see this show? Would you risk missing it because you want to save a few bucks and wait until tomorrow? Do you think it would be a good deal to buy tickets now and resell them later for a profit? OK go ahead. How many tickets? At which price? Are you sure you will be able to sell them, considering that people willing to pay a higher price already had the opportunity to do so and refused?

The [Immaculate Conception] doctrine states that, from the first moment of her existence, Mary was preserved by God from the Original Sin and filled with sanctifying grace that would normally come with baptism after birth. Catholics believe Mary "was free from any personal or hereditary sin". Mary's immaculate conception should not be confused with the [virginal] Incarnation of her son Jesus Christ; the conception of Jesus is celebrated as the Annunciation to Mary. Catholics do not believe that Mary, herself, was the product of a Virgin Birth

  11. Re:Proof of vote? on eBay The Vote · · Score: 3, Informative

In Argentina there's a way to make sure the guy you are paying to is actually voting for you. It is called "voto calesita" [carousel vote]

The voting system in Argentina works like this: When you show up to vote you are given a special envelope, signed by the electoral authorities. With that envelope you go into the voting booth, select a ballot with the name of your candidate, and introduce it into the envelope. Then go out of the booth and put the envelope into the ballot box in front of the electoral authorities.

In order to buy votes, you can take advantage of the system by doing this:

If you are in charge of buying votes for your party, you show up early in the election place. When you are given the special envelope, you enter the booth and exchange it for a regular envelope that you had concealed. Then you introduce that fake envelope into the ballot box. By doing so, you effectively lose your own vote (when they open the ballot box and count the votes, they discard all the non official envelopes or ballots).

However, you gain access to an official, signed, envelope. You can put a ballot of your party into it, seal it, and give it to the guy who is selling his vote. That guy would get an empty envelope from the authorities, enter the booth, exchange envelopes and insert the sealed one into the ballot box. Then he would come back to you. Only when he delivers an empty, official envelope, he gets the money for his vote (because you are sure he has put the sealaed envelope YOU had given to him in the ballot box).

Then... you can use that other empty envelope to do the same thing with the next guy who is selling his vote, and so on. So it doesn't matter that you had lost your first vote, because you can get maybe dozens of votes in exchange.

This has been routinely done in elections in Argentina for years. No need for eBay or anything like that.

Why pay taxes when you are tax-free? (However, you can say they already pay "taxes" in the form of bribes to several officials of several governments).

    Why cut down on margins?

Why share your profits with farmers from poor countries when you can take it all?

Why choose to be under government regulation (FDA) when you can adulterate your merchandise and get even higher profits?

So I agree with you in that legalizing drugs is good news for society in general. But I dont think its good news for the "drug business"

I'm from Argentina. Last time I checked, 60% of my paycheck is taxed. Plus... VAT tax here is 21%, plus the taxes you pay if you own a house, a car, or when you buy fuel, alcohol, etc.

I think the solution is impose a constitutional limit to taxation. Say, taxes beyond 30% of your net income are not mandatory.

So legislators can pass any bills they like creating taxes. You, as a citizen, are required to pay up to the constitutional limit.

So, if the local council creates a new tax, you can ignore it if you are already paying your share. Or, you can choose to pay that new tax and stop paying SS, depending on which tax you think is more "fair" or "useful".
