    Safely as in it will cause toxic effects in humans.

    You can use on any sort of garden, but it will cause any plants sprayed that are not resistant or overly large* to die.

    *I have sprayed some large bushes on accident before and the bushes did not die. They did look a bit sick for a while but did come back.

    Movie warez is a drop in the bucket. Right or wrong, warez is not costing the MPAA anything. The MPAA spends more on marketing than list at retail every movie downloaded.

    The true and measurale loss is the actual theft and bootlegging of movies. The guys standing the street corner selling movies are the real criminals here. Stop that, and you ought to see a reflection in sales figures.

    Do you complain when people ask to borrow a book?

    Most people are taught it is good to share. When we had a a hurricane pass through here and some trees came down, our neighbor came over with his chainsaw and helped fell the trees.

    When I read a good book or play a great game or hear some good music, I tell my frieds about it. I want them to experience the same things that gave me pleasure. I will loan them a book or make a copy of a cd.

    GTK is LGPL so they could use without risk. Anyimprovements to GTK would need to be open, but that is to thier ultimate benefit anyways. They are not into making GUI toolkits but application software.

    They could also use QT and pay Trolltech for licenses.

    I think Adobe is more likely to be looking at porting thier Desktop Publishing stuff and server products. The ports would probably go-

    Server Products- Document server and Collaboration and other backend server stuff (some runs on Solaris and others are Windows only)
    Acrobat
    Printing
    Framemaker
    Illstrator
    then maybe Photoshop, Premiere and other AV stuff.

    By not using it to connect to the internet. Linux really is better for that sort of stuff. My parents have a Linux box I built for them to browse the web and such. It works great for them. When they need to buy some peripheral they ask me on what I advise and I tell them. If they were running Win32 or MacOS they would still ask for my opinion. Sometimes I will search on the internet like check the list of scanners that work with SANE, or I will just tell them buy an HP or an Epson printer.

    I just upgraded my mobo to a K8T800 Pro and it has only 2 SATA ports. Which would you rather have- 2 SATA hard drives with the option for RAID and some PATA optical drives or a couple of PATA hard drives?

    Until mobos come with 4-6 SATA ports, noone is going to be real interested in SATA Optical drives.

    Emphasis added. She wasn't driving no, but she was in the car. The claim is that the car was stopped. It could verily easily be that the car was in motion. The jury also found that she was 20% at fault.

    Except that you are not aware of warranty coverage untill after the purchase. It is reasonable to expect an electronic device to have a 1 year warranty (and may be required by law depending locale).

    Besides, you wouldn't sue a car manufacturer if there was a design flaw?

    Except that Linux is now the default *nix. There is a reason why IBM designed there mainframes to run Linux. IBM didn't setup there mainframes to run virtual machines of BSD. There is a reason why Solaris and FreBSD have linux emulation layers. There is a reason why Sun sells Linux machines.

    There are more Linux than Mac servers. Depending on whose numbers you use, there are more Linux Desktops than Macs. Even the conservative numbers put Linux about equal with Macs.

    Found complete systems without OS for $86 before shipping, I think after shipping it was $114. It can be done but requires a bit of digging.

    I have a dual boot box that I recently upgraded the mainboard and video on. For Linux, connect PS2 keyboard and pop in distro cd when prompted. That was it. It booted up and ran fine.

    For win2k- BSOD. Had to reinstall windows, load drivers, load updates, and finally completed it many , many hours and reboots later.

    A lot of corps are replaceing machines of similiar specs. The company I work for just replace 600 PIII 500mhz machines and selling them for $35. No keyboard, mouse, modem,or cdrom, but does have onboard nic 10/100, VGA and Sound.

    Looking on pricewatch and a no os sytem can be had for $86.

    It is easy to return software. Repeat after me, "I do not accept the terms of the End User License Agreement. You will need to speak with the Store manager, but he should understand the legal issue involved.

    Add an order of ten and you might see some sag. Some really old glass windows in usually cathedrals have thicker bottoms than tops.
