Woah, I just had this new idea for an invention: a Linux-based wireless router that has TWO power connections, instead of just one. I need to go patent this great, innovative idea right now.
Perhaps the people putting those signs together studied history (so they won't repeat it) and found that those actions would have lead to the best preservation of life. Sure, it might mean a few lost opportunities to be a hero, but might also mean far fewer failed attempts at heroism.
Nothing new here. When I was a kid I had a program that would simulate fires, tornadoes, air and boat crashes, earthquakes, nuclear disasters, and even Godzilla, for far less than $100,000 a pop.
Instead of paying to reserve a section of wireless spectrum its owner, xG Technology, uses cognitive radios that steer signals through the unlicensed 900MHz band more normally used by cordless phones and baby monitors.
Strap on your tinfoil hats, people, because this time it's the real deal!
[...] SD adapter for the Dreamcast that allows homebrew games to be played without the need to burn to disc. It's time to dust off those Dreamcast consoles and get back into free gaming. [...] Awesome to relive some of those Dreamcast classics.
Yeah, homebrew classics like Soul Calibur, Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis & Tennis 2K2, Skies of Arcadia, Power Stone & Power Stone 2, Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2, Samba De Amigo, Virtua Fighter 3TB, Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, Chu Chu Rocket!, Phantasy Star Online, Street Fighter 3:Third Strike and other Fighters, Ikaruga and other Shmups. Oh wait, those are all commercial games. If you had them already, why would you take the time to transfer them to SD, when you could just put the disc in and play immediately?
Since people keep using it, they're sending the message that they don't care about invasions of privacy. It's not too hard to figure out how to avoid this invasion: don't use the site.
Oh, at first I thought you were describing the city itself, which collects regardless of what it does. Ironic that they are angry at being treated the same by Microsoft.
Maybe the thief just wanted to offer the victim some relief so he wouldn't be as likely to continue trying to find the thief. Give victim back what he valued most, but what the thief had little value for, and he will be left alone.
Needless to say, this kinda ruins my entertainment. I've come a cease-fire agreement with the other parties in the house about usage periods and times, but the truce remains uneasy.
And it's stupid to have to do that when a simple technical fix would eliminate the conflict.
When you add the oil to fry the donut, and the mechanized farming fuel, fertilizers and insecticides made from crude oil, its probably more like 0.1 miles per donut. May as well take the car.
And might as well eat the donut, since you already bought it. Mmmmmm, donut.
When someone asks for a citation, he's not claiming you are wrong or that you have the value wrong, just asking for something more authoritative than a Slashdot post claiming it's so. This way when he makes the claim, he can point to what you cited rather than just your posting.
What I hate worse is the occasional time I actually fall for watchin the video, and then regret the 10 minutes I wasted. Now I just skip all video, period.
Agreed. Last time I checked, almost all movies are already in 3D. And if anyone claims they aren't, what do you have to say about all the so-called 3D games we've had for the past decade and a half? So I take it the terms you suggest are 3D (what movies have been in since the beginning), stereoscopic (movie shot with two cameras), and holographic (like a hologram, or real life).
C++ gives you the choice not to use those features, and doesn't make you pay for them just because the compiler supports them. So the problems with these must be because other people's code (mis)uses them.
If instead they said, "It is possible to represent numbers in different ways. We all know this, and it's completely uninteresting, but I'm going to bore you with it anyway. You know you can represent 1/3 as 0.3333... right? No big deal. Now curiously that also means you can represent 1/1 = (3*1/3) as 3*0.3333... or 0.99999... It's just a different representation of exactly the same value. You can of course also represent 1 as 5*1/5 1/2+1/2 and all kinds of other awkward and unintersting ways, too."
Wow, thank you for that! Makes complete sense, and takes all the mystery out of it (which is a good thing). Just different representations.
Overly-dramatic summary aside, isn't this just because the cost for Apple to support Java on OS X is greater than the benefit it provides?
No, they engage their customer base, just in the wrong setting (court room).
What, you've never heard of compact disc (CD) brakes? Wait, what were we talking about?
I think you mean Massificationization Effect.

How would that satisfy the middlemen's need to wield power over others? It's not about getting paid.
For those who are lazy like me: Arkell and Pressdram

What the heck does this have to do with wrestling and costumes? I guess I need to keep up with the WWF better.
No different than when a team-member on a C-only project puts in lots of preprocessor crazyness. The problem is the team-member, not the language.

No, he's just pointing out that this subsidy will do nothing to even make the music more affordable for the people it's supposedly helping.

(0.999... + 0.999...) / 2
Which I guess must give 1 as well, so I failed.
