I had to go to Detroit for biz (yay) this week so printing out driving directions around town I go fetch them off the printer and wow, right addresses, but directions and maps to the previous location. I only needed directions from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the lab, and from the lab to the hotel and it managed to fuck every single one of them up by mixing them up, but yet printed the correct addresses on the header.

in my world PC's are very handy, course we are testing up to 54 individual units on a panel in parallel using all sorts of NI DAQ's and 488 systems and Cognex video systems. In our company time is critical cause we are small but expanding really fast, so if I can order a 150$ off lease dell optiplex, slap some cards in it and be done that's what I am going to do.
never once does it ever touch lab view, its all written in a common C# and the test bases are wired to the max so any fixture can be slapped on any base. Lab view consumes a core 2 like it was a 486 and is impossible to debug due to its flowchart weirdness. C# phht its like any other app, add the needed resources and within an day a new product is in the test kiosk, calibrated, debugged, certified and ready to use by a temp.
Considering the news is days to weeks old the only value here is the COMMUNITY. We do not clap for your poorly worded couple paragraph news scrapes like a bunch of mindless buffoons, we are here to debate, and find a common ground on topics that we find interesting.
There is plenty of things to fix on slashdot, beta does not address a single one of them and makes the site pointless to visit. Your move...
