sure it wasnt oil, it was an exotic chemical developed by 3M but the point still stands
'We're evaluating how (immersion cooling) can change the way data centers are designed and operated,'
its been proven on machines that produced much more waste heat than today 27 years ago in the cray 2
not to mention countless people using oil to cool their high voltage transformers and overclocekd P4's, but yay, GO Intel, grats on the prior art, obious patent in the near future
You wanna make a game computer, super great, but I don't see their reasoning
"We're frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space"
what? video cards keep getting more powerful and add hardware accelerated features, CPU's as well, monitors get bigger and sometimes more pixels and you the developers have damn near infinite amounts of ram and storage. Its not the lack of innovation in hardware, its YOU damn developers who wont get past your XBOX360 specs from over a half decade ago and never looking at anything else.
"'Even basic input, the keyboard and mouse, haven’t really changed in any meaningful way over the years."
Cause for many types of game it works very well
"There's a real void in the marketplace,"
Where? Its not in computer hardware, you just ignore that it exists, Its not in computer input cause you can get or adapt any type of controller imaginable for a PC, the only void I have seen is that theres not that much software thats little more than an after thought console port.
installing that gps software, running office... its not what you want, or what you think other people want, its what THEY want, and according to the numbers OSX dosent have what they want, and its more expensive
what about 9 and 9.22, in that case it was a flipped bit order in the installer so it would not install on anything less than a G3, flip the bits and it magically works fine
I dont know what the op was referring to, but there is a grain of truth in it, and I dont like apple's mind games, which is why I stopped using them long ago.
yea I just looked at walmarts website, for 600 bucks you get a 17 inch toshiba laptop with a 2.5ghz i5 750 gig hard diskand 6 gigs of ram, meanwhile you would pay 1,200 for a 2.5 ghz i5 with 4 gigs of ram, 500 gig hard drive, 13 inch screen and a OS that doesnt run half of what people want
and gimp, pulled a open source move in 2.8 with their little "you cant save anything unless its our stupid file format, you must export", damn thats an annoying feature that cant be changed cause "someone" though it was better.
now it breaks my workflow, and if I wanted to save the damn thing in xcf I would have. This is classic OSS, never explain why something is better, then one day just shove it down our throats.
"That and other drivers for video drivers, resolution and the rest meant I chose to give up on Ubuntu."
same, whenever I load linux it instantly means I have to dive right into manually editing a config file or deal with a wrong resolution running at 50 hz (really? name a computer video standard that ran at 50hz post 1990) which causes my screen to blank out every 3 seconds
great impressions, 10 seconds off the disk and I am hacking a text file and digging though user fourms for fucking 1280x1024*60Hz video... wasnt even this bad in the 80's
horizions by atari, the grind on that make AO look like an action platformer... the only game where I watched a bunch of people spend a month putting rocks INTO a cave, to mine it out (logic!), just so the first boss creature would appear in world. you couldnt take piss in that game without mining 100 tons of ore and harvesting 100 tons of food and a million units of lumber to end up with 10 arrows that sucked ass
5%?
shit man I have been driving since 1995, and had one accident that wasnt my fault, thats 0.05882352941176470588235294117647%
so I suggest you get your dumb ass off the road and leave us good drivers alone.
something that was proven to be fine in 1985?

'We're evaluating how (immersion cooling) can change the way data centers are designed and operated,'
immersion cooling is already a proven technology, doesnt matter what the medium is.

so our failure teachers can be paid more to not educate?
thanks for the english lesson I am sure I care
eventually someone is going to look at it and notice

I know your rumoured to do anything to avoid taxes, but this is a little extreme!
Its just to much of a pain in the ass to deal with on a daily basis, and I have been fighting it for at least a decade
