To me, the game feels like City of Heroes 1.5: not a big change, really.
The costume choices for male characters seems much more expansive than those for female characters, unlike City of Heroes, which seems to have similar numbers of costumes for both sexes.
In City of Heroes, ranged attackers were usually balanced by having less defense/hitpoints. They could hit from afar, but depended on others for protection. In Champions Online, I've got a ranged character who is much better in a fight than an unarmed Martial Artist type. It's the equivalent of having Batman being outdone by Halo: it just isn't right.:)
"At a time when his peers are finishing 6th grade, this only child of a Taiwanese mother and an Israeli father is trying on a cap and gown preparing to graduate with a 4.0 from community college." The article continues with a quotation by the boy, hinting at his modesty, "I don't consider myself a genius because there are 6.5 billion people in this world and each one is smart in his or her own way and it is, after all, only community college."
"Palm, Google, Microsoft, Nokia and Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry, are all at varying stages of developing and introducing their own iPhone-like devices."
So Apple, as a newcomer to the industry, is now making others in the same space play catch up to them. Real competition is a good thing. Definitely Palm, MS, Nokia and RIM had more than enough time and expertise to make a iPhone like device before Apple did, yet they didn't. So now they get to play catch up. I hope they do create real iPhone killers, because it then puts Apple on the spot to improve.

I picked this up at the book store, noticed nothing about Nethack, and decided it was one of those books in which the author just wanted to talk about old games he liked, history be damned. That's not a bad thing, but that's also not what the title would lead one to think.
In those coloring book images, you can clearly see that the towers were rigged for demolition! See, I just drew in a team of CIA operatives with a TNT plunger! COVER UP! I call COVER UP!
I miss the Starfleet Command games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Fleet_Command The first one was cool, but they kept dumbing the series down, so that by the last one, it was less a tactical simulator and more like a strategy action game.
"If J.J. Abrams' reboot is successful (and the latest trailer suggests it will be!)..."
Yes, because trailers are always the best source for determining a film's success. In fact, why bother releasing the movie, since its success is assured?
Despite the company and browser not existing at the time, I can confidently say that Opera had all these features before Erwise. There will be naysayers, of course.
"MacHeads is a superb film that will give Apple haters a few cheap laughs, and Apple fans a few cheap thrills. But it'll entertain both equally, while educating everybody else."
Wow, that's such a fence-sitting position that it's probably hard on their butts. It's as if they don't want to offend anyone. "While World War II was indeed a deadly conflict, it gave the Allies a few cheap laughs, and the Axis a few cheap thrills, but it'll kill both equally." I think I can use this for my upcoming performance review...
Their #1 best keyboard gamepad, the Logitech g13 gameboard, isn't even available as far as I know. I can't see how something no one can buy yet can beat something like the Nostromo n52.
Or, more accurately, assuming that the Tekwar novels would be good because William Shatner acted in science fiction parts.
This sentence makes no sense. Are you implying that something Shatner did was not good? Emmy-award-winning William Shatner, the man who defeated God in Star Trek V?
I played as the US in the Katrina emergency so that I could eat Cheetos and surf the web instead of helping anyone. After a few in-game days, I transferred some water to the survivors and attempted to blame everyone else.

We do this at work as well, as part of a Kanban system. Seems to work well.

"this poor implementation of Agile development is harmful to our velocity"
Just sprinkle with synergy and you'll be okay. But don't forget to execute!

Fixed that for him.

". if they launch Endeavour to rescue Atlantis, and Endeavour suffers damage at launch?"
Then you are obviously in a Michael Bay movie, where logic and physics are thrown out the door. Mayhem, shakycam and explosions usually follow.

Hmm, I should dig those up....
The new Xbox-360 2000MP will only allow you to run games that cost 2000 Microsoft Points or less!
Man, I miss people asking for VRML galleries and stores. The same way I miss getting kicked in the head repeatedly.

"does Amazon joining the practice legitimize it?"
No, it was legitimate before Amazon joined in. I think you might mean "popularize" it, or something different.

This just in, Red Dwarf's Rimmer and Voyager's doctor upset, complain of "hologram of a hologram" prejudice.
If it works for Dick Clark, it works for me.

No cup holders? Worthless. Even Nanites need somewhere to put their Nano-Dr Pepper.
Where are his unintentionally written young adult fiction novels? I bet they are much more fun to read.

"Dr. Smith, we want you to study this rock."
"Silence, you blundering, bubble-headed boobie!"
"..then you're making better use of your meat co-processor..."
There's a joke in there, but I'm not touching it.
