Except raping a girl doesn't secure your company's future, thereby securing your future, your friends' futures and your family's future for generations to come. See how stupid your counter-argument is?
I can agree with this. Children are very impressionable of course and they are not very good at distinguishing fact from fiction. Parents probably sometimes forget this or view it as normal childish innocence, forgetting that a child can draw conclusions on other things based on their false knowledge and ideas seeded in formative years are of course persistent. Long running shows particularly become a fixture in the lives of children, and sometimes entire families.

There's a difference between illegal and wrong. If something can be copied indefinitely then it makes no sense for it to cost anything. There's a big picture of a post scarcity, post monetary world that's being missed here.
If the top 10% or can influence the economy more by trading amongst themselves than the other 90% then that is the problem. The politicians care about the GDP first and foremost.
Isn't the idea of business or any person in a monetary society to get as much money as possible for as little as possible? Isn't that why we have all the corruption, deception, exploitation and competition? Aren't monopoly and collusion inevitable? If someone has more power than others, how could you expect them to be honest and fair? All they will do is use their position of power to gain more power and/or further secure their current standing.
Somebody please explain to me how you can expect a society to work like that because it's driving me nuts.
Wouldn't it be much better if everyone could agree that we're all equal, we all want to survive, and the best thing for all of us is to just get along?:(
Is it that it is technically impossible or just monetarily infeasible?
But he's not the only one.
Won't someone think of the economy?!
Sudden increase in roadside IEDs, mailbombs...
Especially if you listen to the same album multiple times.
Slashdot you make me laugh. This must be my highest moderated comment so far, and it's also my most banal.
Reality is a hallucination.
Yes, it's a stupid handle. I made it up on the spot when I decided to make an account.

Worst case scenario it levels the playing field?
People are all born ignorant but stupidity must be taught.
That's one of Dante's nine stages of hell, isn't it?
They got paid to say that.
> yes, CCP hired an economist to write these
Oh that explains it.
The Federal Reserve Bank has a monopoly on money itself. It is the ultimate owner.
Noble Peace Prize on one hand, billionaire backslappers on the other. Hmm...
No, a fundamental problem with an almighty economy.
I immediately began reading that paragraph in a Viv Stanshall voice.

Why can't it be a conspiracy theory and be true?
It's a flaw in the economic system that has only come to light in recent years, not anything to do with the value of automation technology.

There's a difference between wanting something and being willing and able to pay for it.
