If you read the article it states just that. You don't lose your movies that you downloaded, you lost the ability to stream the movies. This is why I have a 12TB drive RAID connected to a MacMini with all my iTunes content on it. Which reminds me I need to update that soon to bigger drives. That's going to be a big old bag of suck.

That's not entirely true. I watch all the major blockbusters, but rarely at the theater. More often than not I buy/rent it on iTunes and watch it from the comfort of my own home.

  7. Couldn't care less on Why Don't We Care About The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of TV Shows? (digg.com) · · Score: 3, Insightful

Rotten Tomato Scores suck, for both TV and Movies. There have been very many movies with high RT scores that were terrible, and just as many with low RT scores that were actually fairly good. The system is crap and instead when i want to know if a movie is any good I just ask if any friends on Facebook have seen it, and I can tell by their answer and who they are (ie things they like) whether or not to trust their opinion.

  10. As long as they keep running servers that run the php version I bet most will never notice.

I had a client who was using php 5.3 on ubuntu 12.04 until he shut his site down last month. The site wasn't making enough money for him to warrant updating the site (even though for 2 years I kept pestering him about it). The original developer had used php functions that no longer worked in 5.6, and it would have been a major rewrite to get it working again.

Which requires additional equipment, and instead of running things in a chain you have to run them to the router. This is better in that say you have 2-3 nodes in a room, you run 1 wire from the master Pi to the room, then run wire between the 2-3 devices. With PoE you're running 2-3 times as much wire.

  25. AppleTV on Ask Slashdot: What's the Best Media Streaming Device? · · Score: 2

It is the only one I have any experience with. I love that the 4th Gen connects to my plex server, and that I can connect to both my US and Japanese itunes accounts without logging out of either. This is useful since I have purchased hundreds of TV shows and Movies from iTunes US store and have Japanese Netflix and Hulu accounts. With the 2nd/3rd Gen I had to log in and out of accounts to go between the two and that kind of sucked.

Generally I am ok with the interface, but what I dislike is how many times I have to click play to watch a movie/show.

    Example:

New movie comes out. I go into moive sna purchase it and it auto loads so I can watch it. That's cool cause the chance I want to watch it at time of purchase is high. I get the splash screen with the menu for Play, extras etc, so I choose play, Then it brings me to another screen where it wants to tell me about the plot of the movie I haven't seen, which irritates me because I do not want the plot of the movie, I want to just watch the movie. So I have to click play again to start the movie (those 2 "play clicks my be reverse order but they are both always there). Then if it's a movie I started to watch and didn't finish it'll show up a "play/resume" screen. Why can't the "resume button just be on the splash screen. Why make it so we have to drill into the movie, it's irritating. They do the same with TV shows.

When I click play just start the fricken movie...
