I am so sick of hearing about /b/. Its not that I'm against wikileaks or julian assange, I'm all for freedom of speech and transparent government. I'm against how everyone misuses the name Anonymous constantly. They are not the only board on 4chan for gods sake. Every time the media focuses on them it makes the rest of us look like idiots. For the record pretty much every other board on 4chan is against this nonsense. Anonymous is not a terrorist organization, its just a name nothing more. Anyone wearing a Guy Fawkes mask doesn't know the first damn thing about freedom and just follows the trend of his fellow /b/tards and its been this way since project chanology. Conformism and ignorance is the very thing were against. Theres no reason why they do it except maybe for some false sense of righteousness. They disgrace our name and our website. Call them /b/tards, terrorists, idiots, but not Anonymous. That name belongs to us and were sick of being grouped with them.

Always a good idea to look for free alternatives but nowadays malware is not much of a problem if you avoid public trackers and limewire, especially unpopular trackers. Private trackers are pretty much 99.9% malware free. We aren't living in the times of napster and kazaa anymore.

  20. Well Done on Single Software Licence Shared 774,651 Times · · Score: 0

My hats off to avast for doing the right thing. The problem with RIAA/MPAA and other copyright mongering companies is that they only see pirates as thief scum when in reality they are just normal people like you and me. Not that I personally use avast's software but this would have convinced me to pay up for a copy, they definitely deserve it for making that extra step. Maybe this will convince other software companies to reach out to pirates more, doubt it but you never know.

  22. Terrible Idea on Fighting Ad Blockers With Captcha Ads · · Score: 0

ANY company that uses these is not getting my business. Going this far just to get people to click ads is pretty sad. Even without an adblocker throwing crap in my face when I'm trying to read an article or something is going to discourage me from buying the product in question. Making people watch them isn't going to change a thing. Its like with T.V. you can show as many ads as you want but the more intrusive and annoying they are the less I'll want to buy them.

You make the assumption that Google cares about my data. Google has catalogued and indexed the internet itself I don't think they give a shit about what one person does on their computer. I trust Google and they have yet to disappoint me. I'd trust them with my information more than Comcast. Besides I already use SSL and TOR whenever possible. Before you start attacking Google consider what OS and programs you're using to type replies. Stop being so paranoid.
