I've had the same problem. When I was installing it for the first time, (on a dual booting system) it the install went though, but then something screwy happened one day when I was running partition magic on my windblows os IT said there was an error on the partition. After that, I was not able to install another operating system of any sort on the drive, because it had some sort of MBR corruption. Really lame. It installed Windows 98 on the first try though!
This is brilliant on their part. Stores will not be able to sell anymore of the preferred alcohol products, so they will "have to" to sell all of the crappy products nobody likes! Clears inventory for the new 2004 models!
There is a link on the page for signup, though it seems to mention that only "public" webcams are accepted. I don't know if that would help you either way.
The Camera Watch project is part of our Surveillance of Surveillances ( SOS) effort. We are constructing a repository of links to publicly available on-line webcams, where the webcams of interest are those that observe the public in public spaces. At present, we estimate there are about 10,000 such cameras displaying public places in the United States. Our goals are to assess the number and nature of such cameras, explore potential uses, and analyze and propose related policies and best practices.
Our database is just being launched. The current edition of the database has only a few hundred direct links to cameras with about 6,000 links currently queued for processing. We expect to have these included in the database over the next weeks.
You can search the database for a camera or submit a link to a camera for inclusion in the database.
Wow, 6,000 camera links queued for processing. They should write a bot to check the links for up-time-ness and verification.
Well, My local K-mart has 4 of them, and the cashier's desk doesn't seem to be manned a whole lot of the time. It sure would help if they watched those little web-cameras they installed.
I think the automated checkout system works a lot better for Grocery stores. (Kroger)
Whose main goal is to Repair the schools computers. You just do all of the stupid net-admins work and they still act like they know more than you. Preatty soon, you become more intune with their network, and they become afraid of you, thinking that you may launch a worm into their crappy win nt network. Morons.
Well, at least the South Koreans patented it instead of the North Koreans. I mean, we wouldn't want to have our vacume cleaners turn on us, now would we?
Hmm, interesting idea, they might be able to place a camera at a specific angle to take a picture at some random time in the movie, capturing the lens flash of any found cameras (might work on people's glasses too, I don't know)
Then they could have a anti-piracy swat team storm the theatre! How is that for an exciting movie?
Yeah, but with this new technology, wouldn't it make it difficult for people with medical conditions to watch this type of movie? all the flashing refresh rates on the screen? oh my..
What is sad about this is that the more that we integrate robots into our society, the more lazy we will all get, and then all will be fatter.
*my mind must be on the reports that just came out about one/third of americans are overweight. Most of this had to have been attributed to the TVremote control, daily commutes, and *gasp* sitting in front of the computer.
LOL. Mod parent up. I loved the Remix.
I saw the trailer before matrix revolutions. It was funny because the audience broke into laughter after the commercial concluded.
I bought a Tape single once! but that was back in the day.
