I too would like a slow painful death for Real, but I want them gone and not used as soon as possible.
Not that I listen to them but I was overjoyed when I heard that click and clack(I dont listen so I don't know how to spell it) had dropped the real audio format for thier show archiving.
I wish more people would take a cue from this and drop it at least in favor of WMA(it may suck but I can play it on winamp). Something, anything but real, oh yeah and QT too.

If it has a CF Slot and allows me to download my pictures from my digitial camera to it, It will be valuable to me. I realize there is a product like this but its pretty much purpose built for that, it only has a few other features.
If it has 802.11x support, then I can leave it in my car, and use DVArchive to send ReplayTV shows to it, so my girlfriend can watch tv when we are on the road.
I don't however see carrying this around with me everywhere as I will an iPOD especially the mini that they seem to be announcing. If this thing uses Windows CE then I bet we will be able to use a whole host of software the CE has written for it now and will get alot of functionality out of it beyond the usual video/music/picture holder.
It might supplant itself to being an cheaper in-car computer alternative, I have a GPS device, and there is Mapopolis for navigation for the CE, hey I mount it on my dash and Viola i have DVD/NAV/Digital Music playback, and what ever I deem necesary, I already use my iPaq for that, it just seems that this has a bigger HD and a Bigger Screen.
Seems fairly valuable to consumers to me, if you look beyond what they are touting it for at CES

my G/F(yes I do have one) runs a home furnishings retail store (most likely you get the catalog, Sienfeld even did a whole show devoted to getting this particular company's catalog in the mail), so far today she has had almost $6000 in returns, and almost $45,000 in sales and they are open for another 4 hours yet. Both figures are far higher than her normal day sales. I had to run something over to her, and there were a lot of people in line with bags and reciepts in their hands waiting in line... People exchange things and get the things that they want, most don't just want the money back and then leave. If that's your motive, then you will go in on another day and return your merchandise.
But what do I know, since it's in the news, it must be fact! They NEVER skew things to make the story more sensational... Heaven forbid.

All most people do is go in with half of their Christmas haul that they didnt want, goto the customer service counter, Stand in line for 2 hours to return everything they got, and then find what they want (most likely an iPod) and get in line at the checkout counter for another 2 hours and then they go on their merry ways.
It is apparent that the WHOLE REASON THIS ARTICLE EXISTS is lost on you.
You apparently do not like to build anything, not just simply take something apart. There is no challenge in that. Just make sure you have no left over pieces at the end?
Personally I believe most of us here would rather build something ourselves and hope that you got it all right on the first try. That is what is fun.

Well if you have a male and a female... Breed them, use the money from selling them next year to offset the cost of inflation for the list again that year.
Besides with all the other birds you have around you might be able to get your property declared a sanctuary and get government assistance, or at least a tax write off.
Remember to think to your future, Do you want to be Re-Buying the lenses you have when you want to get a new body, If you like nikon but cant afford a Good Nikon, Dont go and buy a canon with hopes of buying a Nikon in the future...
Buy a low end of what ever system you want, then when you get a new body that has alot more features you can still use the lenses that you have.
