    It's cheap? ($70 U.S.) ^_^

You're correct in that it's not a standard feature now. But the number of DivX certified DVD players is only growing. It'll probably be a standard feature in the next 2 years, just like mp3 and photo playback.

The worst part is that it's basically only useful on a computer.

Not if you have a DVD player capable of playing DivX files. I have the DVP-642 myself - has played every DivX file I've tried except the Qpel ones. Great bang for the buck.

I've never understood the hatred for FFX, really. It has one of the best storylines of all the FF games, turning the usual RPG conventions on their heads - not only does the hero -not- get the girl in the end, he doesn't even get to live. Pretty damn original, imho.

Blitzball was pure evil though. :D

The only reason I stick with LJ is because of the filtering/locking option, which, to the best of my knowledge, is not available on any other blogging platform. This gives me a lot of control in who exactly can read my posts. If I have to, I can friends-lock the entire journal, keeping random surfers out. The new bundled photohosting for premium accounts is also a nice feature.

LJ is sadly lacking in many areas though: no text search of blog posts or comments; available stock templates are pretty pathetic; only 15 icon slots; no post categorization, etc.

What original claim? I didn't make one. I'm not the author of the parent post, intnsred is. You've obviously missed my point, which is that you provided four sources which are extremely conservative, and therefore suspect given the subject matter.
You shouldn't be surprised if people don't believe the claim that Democrats steal elections with the frequency the right claims they do if you link to material on sites that have a reputation for being extremely conservative. The threshold of credibility is set substantially higher, as it would be for any biased source (e.g., the Discovery Institute's statements re evolution).

Because my lack of sources showing that Democrats have not stolen elections is thus proof they have? Strange logic.
Regardless of the political leanings of the sources, isn't it now up to you to refute the charges?
When making assertions about political history, the politics of your sources have some impact on how credible their statements are. The onus does not fall on me to take seriously the accusations made by people with a political ax to grind.

What'll happen once sites catch on? They'll hire someone like me to spend half an hour writing a script that queries bugmenot for logins to their site, and disables those accounts. Making bugmenot useless won't be very hard.
Agreed - about 3 out of 5 login/passwords I get from bugmenot get rejected now. When I first started using login info from them it worked everytime.
Even more oddly, if I'm using a bugmenot login and click on the link while I'm reading a very popular site like Slashdot or Eschaton my login gets rejected nearly all the time. This only happens when I'm clicking in to the registered content from a very popular site though. If I cut and paste the link or click in from a less popular site I never have any problems.

Well obviously iTunes is really the key. If you don't like iTunes, you're not going to find its seamless integration with the iPod to be much of a selling point. I tried iTunes for a week, but I just didn't like it for a variety of reasons.

I also happen to like _not_ having to depend on any particular software program to load my player with music or to upload music from my player to my computer. That's just me.

It's just an mp3 player, not a religion.

Just a cautionary note: the iHP-120 doesn't come with a dock, a la the iPod (something that will probably be added in the next iteration). Also it doesn't come with any music management software, a la iTunes. For me this was a plus as I'm not a fan of ITunes or Musicmatch, but YMMV.
You can get an iHP-120 for U.S. $334.00 here. I got mine at E-cost for around $345.00.

Sorry, the iFM isn't comparable to the internal integrated radio, a la the iHPs. I mean have you seen that thing? It's huge. That's one of the reasons I got the iHP instead of the iPod. I didn't want to fiddle with an external add-on for a radio. (And why Apple hasn't added the option yet on the iPod is beyond me.)
Top battery life for me has been around 12. But then I listen to everything at 320 kps.
Additional pluses for me were the standard LCD remote (I never have to take my iHP out of my bag, except if I want to record something, as the internal mike is on the main player) and the fact that I don't need a software program to load music onto the device. Just drag and drop.
