Oh boy, a OSS repository for government stuff! Yay! Wait a second, the voting stuff isn't in here.... Oh right, that's all closed platforms that the government barely audits.... Nevermind.
> Could we please stop with the endless pro-drug commentary?
It's not "pro-drug". It's "anti-prohibition".
This is by far the best expression of the issue I have ever seen. The current laws totally mimic prohibition laws from the early 1900's. Seems more like history just keeps on repeating itself.
This wouldn't be the first time that someone who was an amateur made some kind of major progress. It seems that the definition of amateur needs a rewrite. The guy in the article sounds like he's more stating the obvious at this point.
Thanks for producing a better summary of the article than what was posted on/.
Everyone is freaking out over some slippery slope, when in reality it looks more like the courts handled this in a totally reasonable manner. Even the fine was a reasonable one.
I think the bigger issue here is that the site didn't have anyone actively moderating the page.
I seriously don't give a shit what its first message is.
I dont know about that... I'd be a bit worried if it said "parasitic life form detected! EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE!"
The possibilities of things going wrong from that first sentence is just too damn high.
Parent post deserves mod points so badly. I wish I had some.
Also, I wouldn't want something like this in a car anyway. At that point it's just about reverse engineering the way that type of data is logged. Knowing the companies we have today, there would be some type of global database getting 'hacked' on a daily basis for information.
The EFF is a good start, and maybe the ACLU. All Snowden and Manning did was tell the truth. We should be *very* careful about outlawing the truth in America.
You forgot to mention the part where you have to deal with getting shot and/or getting hurt while running for cover in the middle of a match.
If I couldn't play paintball, this would make for a decent second possibly.
There's a big difference between outing records of consumer complaints or public donation information and posting private information relating to a large group of people. There is no gain to be had aside from fear and a lot of problems for a lot of people.
It's not like when you 'Out' these businesses etc you're posting personal addresses of the people who complained along with the personal information of everyone who works there either.
Heck not even just the office scanners, most all-in-one printers that you can get for your house now do this as well.
At this point it's such a generalized feature, that they're basically just targeting the general consumer at this point.
People should be taught both and then left alone to decide which one makes more sense.
Should they be taught all the other creation myths around the world also?
Yes, but instead of it being taught in science class, it should be done in a history/world culture class. So that way the context of what is being taught is correct. Creationism == Old tradition and cultural history. Evolution == science. I figure if you make this separation and teach it in the appropriate PLACE, the confusion would be set aside and we'd understand this old concept just like we understand ancient history.
Because being bullied doesn't always occur from fellow students. As an individual does better in school, the parents have a tendency to expect TOO much of their kids, and start going apesh*t when they don't perform to their own expectations.
Sometimes it's not so much the other people at the school as much as it is the people at home. School seems to just be the place where the frustrations at home just end up getting vented.
I've heard nothing but nightmares from MULTIPLE developer interviews about this. Apparently memory management and usage is a nightmare on the PS3. I'm kind of curious as to the REAL specifics to this and perhaps a place to read for myself on this?

Where can we find the data he leaked? Obviously he was trying to expose something. I figure at the bare minimum it'd make for an interesting read.

Sounds like they're trying to patent a way to make it easier to launder their money.
That's the sort of thing some idiot would put on his luggage!
Leave it to /. to scrutinize every little bit of what you're saying.

So what source do you have to prove this?

AMD hardware is what's backing up the XBOne, PS4, and WiiU. I'm sure they have plenty of customers.

Little late for that.....
The article mentioned a lot of landmines around the landmark. I'm guessing that's one of the reasons why there hasn't been much looting.
This is the government we're talking about here. There isn't much that they build that can be considered sane.
It's one of those things that sounds like a good idea at the start, but the more you look at the logistics of, the worse it gets.
You forgot to mention the part where you have to deal with getting shot and/or getting hurt while running for cover in the middle of a match. If I couldn't play paintball, this would make for a decent second possibly.
Wouldnt internet poker going brick-and-mortar make it a casino?
As a matter of fact, I bet they would. They'd probably try to market it for the shock factor and make millions!

What the hell? Also, how in the heck does something THIS RETARDED land on the front page?
