A fair question. I spent most of my "college" years in a large University town. The vast majority of my friends were college attendees. So I had the vacarious college expierence. Snuck in to classes, helped friends study, read thier books. Things of this nature. I would say that it gives a fair assesment to be able to make the above statement.
I am seeing a lot of posts talking about people who went to college and grabbed a degree and talk about clearing out the underbrush. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps some of this underbrush are people that never had the chance, or even desire to go to college.
Personally, I have never enrolled into college. However that does not mean that I have no spent the last three years of my life trying to read/learn/expirement with everything and anything I can.
I feel that for someone with 5 years of Tech backround, three in unix, I have learned a lot. I usually have no troubles holding my own against a college graduate. But in the general sense, I fall into this "under brush" category.
Think about this, people like myself, we do truly do this for the love of labor. There was no driving force of college, just myself and a box. My own internal drive to learn and educate myself. To me these are sometimes more often the people that will really excel due to the motivation it took to get this far in the first place and the remaining drive of learning everything you can in an industry that advances as quickly as this one.
I just think that perhaps before you stand on your Berkely soap box, that sometimes you should appreciate there are more important things in knowledge/skill/education than college.
but I hope I am not the only one that agrees that the Simpsons are due to be done. Iam personally a little sketchy on the movie idea myself.
Probably among many others, I have been watching the Simpsons since Tracy Ullman and been a die hard fan ever since. This season outside of a few shows, I could care less whether I see it or not. I am not flaming, I am just stating I think they should go out with some diginity. I think that is safe to say that Matt G. agrees.
Unlimited bandwidth, email accounts, disk space, and a free MySQL DB. $10/month, last I checked. This seems to me to be damn close to the perfect servers. Good bandwidth too, I always get a good response from my site.
C# was said to be one of the worst lanuages that Microsoft developed and it was being flamed here openly(not like that is a suprise at all). So it begs the question. Why would anyone want to compile this lanuage on linux? Why the effort, is this a struggle in the effort against.NET? Please forgive my ignorance, but I am very confused.
Is it not possible just to run the Open Source equivilant in some other lanuage, perhaps one with a little more respectability (saying that only knowing majorities opinion.)
you think Mulder and Scully should have just died in the movie and saved us all the pain. I kept waiting for it, but to no avail. The nearly undead FBI agents, it was almost comical, but just really sad.
Perhaps the study is flawed, but in a discussion with friends/loved ones I am going to use this as fuel for my fire as long as I can. Sleep is nice, but being awake at all (well not quite all...) hours of the day and night are a lot nicer. IMO.
And it is entirely possible that if these humans remained in reproductive isolation for long enough, they could evolve into another species altogether.
Of course that is not accounting for the inbreeding and madness for several years.
The irony here is while it promotes linux as a pda system, the datasync feature is available for windows only right now.
All of the Linux PDA's I have seen have only synced with winblows. This is very irritating. News flash for marketers. If people are buying a linux PDA (generally) they use linux, other wise most people would just use Palm. When someone gets there head out of thier arse and writes software that syncs thier linux PDA with...gasp...Linux, then I will buy one.
Until then, it just seems to be fueling the stupidity of bad marketing.
as much as a note. On the notes of his film works, Crime Spree, If you have not seen this movie. Do yourself a flavor. The movie is great and Bruce IMO has a great role.
