I personally read ebooks on my Clie, rather than on the screen of my pc... the screen quality is far higher, and there's no eye strain, along with the added bonus of being far smaller than most books, so its easier to carry around with you.
I will simply not register to try something out. Its a whole lot easier to say 'screw this' and search through courcefoge to find something that will do the same job, no questions asked.
Hell, I make a trip to the used book store every couple weeks, there's no way I could afford to read as much as I do without it! Sure I could go to the library, but the library doesn't usually have what I want, and I have to give it back.
With the store, If I don't like the book, I can always sell it back to them when I'm done with it.
93%? this is no doubt a statistic carefully researched with the ever popular "Pull a random number out of your ass" statistical method. Please, if you're going to use a statistic, at leasst pretend to back it up.
Actualy, Alias-Wavefront just announced a fully-functional non-comercial version of Maya that is freely available. (Requires NT/2K/XP or OS X) Check it out HERE. The download site has been really busy lately, but its definitely worth the wait.

I did that too, but at the time I was working in a windows admin job and I ended up getting a really sore thumb.... I ended up having two mice, and used whichever was less painfull.
I can usually fix a car, provided I have the right tools for the job. I've never been afraid to get my hands dirty, and have done quite a bit of work on cars, not just my own, over the years.
It may be a little different from playing with computers, but a car isn't going to BSoD on you either.
HP notebooks also have built in diagonstic software. Iirc it's F10 at the boot screen (or maybe F6 - its been a while)
All I have to say is these things had better be clearly labeled.
Just to nitpick, comparing the security of an out of the box install of RedHat to FreeBSD and ESPECIALLY Open BSD is fucking retarded. that is all.

I can type "google.com" a whole lot faster that "search.yahoo.com"
Generally speaking, an associate's degree is earned after two years of college / uni, usually a little over 60ish credits...

I think you just described 90% of the /. community.
Looking over Linows' site, I found this link to some source. I'm quite sure it's not all of it, but there is some.

C#??? Seriously?????
apm works great, just add the device to the kernel
(device apm0) iirc, and enable it in rc.conf (apm_enable="YES") and away you go.
as for acpi, I have no clue on the support.
Just set your wayback machine to, oh, say 6 years ago, and you'll be able to get one.

...I'm moving to mars.
I just stubled on this, maybe it'll help.
Good point, I'll have to look at painting the walls again.
Uh, no. There are small windows, 'panes' really inside the game that you can drag around, and it took WAY to long for them to actually move...
