I read the original Extremetech article which details them using the beta version of 3dmark2k3 to "stop" the demo and move the camera outside of the normal rendered path which revealed that nvidia played with their drivers to take a load off the card by not fully renedering everything seen "outside" of the normal view. I would no consider this a cheat, but an optimization. who cares what is not seen by the camera? I give nvidia a pat on the back for this.
On the other hand when you enable the 8x aniso filtering and the driver deliberately reduces image quality to gain a few more marks, I would consider this unfair cheating. If I ask for 8x aniso you better damn well give it to me.
Lastly I think it's stupid for anyone to rely on any single benchmarking program to gauge the performance of a card, that's why I always read THG articles when I want to know how hardware performs, Tom uses 3dmark as one of many applications that he benchmarks new hardware with. and frankly I don't really care about 3dmark scores, I always look at the scores for real games.. I wanna see how my gaming is going to be affected, not how sum st00pid benchmark runs.
In order for a papered money system with electronic tracking to be effective you are going to have to upgrade every cash register and connect them all to sum kind of super secure network. which would be fine except for the fact that I am sure that crackers/n00bsstick script kiddies would be all over that.
at first I am sure the guberment will just track the money with their own methods, and airports scanners that tell exactly how much money you are carrying will be common.
At the same time you have to think about privacy, do I want anyone else to know where I spend my money? absolutely not. where I spend my money is my business. not the guberments.
Actually I ended up with a countereit $10 dollar bill once... unknowingly I went to buy lunch at a hole in the wall mexican restaurant.. I hand em the bill and the guy looks and looks.. and he's like "this bill no good" sure enough I looked closer and it was!! out of all the places to get a phony bill spotted I would have never of thought the local taco stand would catch it.
did anyone ever see "the Time Machine" ??? in the scene where the guy goes to the future and sum dumbass decides to bomb the moon to make underground living quarters.. the result of which ended up destroying civilization? the moon is your friend!! who cares if there is water on it or not!

You can already build your own Powermac G4, requires quite a bit of modding to get everything to line up... but it will work
