I would still consider Super Paper Mario an RPG (or at least RPG-lite), but the combat is more platform-ish than turn based like traditional console RPGs.
Can you imagine how long an XP boot (or Ubuntu for that mater) would take on an old 386 system with a sluggish hard drive and not a lot of memory (if such a thing were even possible)? Hours I would guess, and you would shake your head wondering if your hard drives MTBF would get you through the process.
Why not demand that Blizzard port it to OpenGL and other OSes so that you can have the freedom to run your computer how you see fit?
All of Blizzard's 3D games (and even Diablo II), have the ability to run using OpenGL. That's how they work on the Mac. (Yes yes, I know by other OSes you probably meant Linux.)
I could mention that in northeast Ohio, it was in the 60s for the last two days and today there are snow storms. Then I remembered it's NE Ohio, so it's business as usual.
Seriously guys, get a life; the competition in the console market between Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo is not a battle between good and evil...or good, neutral and evil
1) For the most part, everything is outdoors. There are a few boss fights that are inside and you have ride an elevator or go through a tunnel
2)The driving is more or less the same as in GTA. There are some street races where you have to go through a number of checkpoints. There are also "stunt markers" where you have to jump a car through to complete it. Both of these allow you to gain driving points to increase your driving skills. My biggest problem with driving is that pedestrians don't know how to get out of your away, even when you honk the horn. They also die with the slightest tap from a vehicle.
3)Hand to Hand combat is basically punch/kick/kick 'em when their down
4)You can throw a bad guys' corpse at other people to do damage. If you punch/kick them when your strength is high enough, they will go flying. This is really fun on top of buildings, because if the initial hit doesn't kill them, the fall will.
Only within severe limits. Try this.. Take your iPod to your friends house. Try putting one track from his iTunes library onto your iPod. Congratulations, you added the one song, but deleted all the other itunes songs on the player.
Or you could tell iTunes that you want to manually manage the songs on the iPod and grab just that one song.
While I agree with most of your ideas, I should point out that many places require a certain amount of employment time before benefits are offered. At my current job, for example, you have to put in 3 months before health coverage and retirement plans become available to you.
I know it was Cleveland (I can also spell and pronounce Cuyahoga properly). The comment I replied to was talking about Ohio as a state, even if the article is about OU.
Nothing is stopping you from saving your files locally when using Google Docs. It works more or less like it would on any desktop application. File > Save as . However, I'll grand that, if you can't actually access Google Docs, then you're screwed unless you have a program capable of working with those files and then what's the point of Google Docs?
You know, that's one of the things I really don't miss about running Windows...
I would hope that Microsoft doesn't take a loss when somebody buys a Wii, or the console market is more cut throat than I thought. ;)

Pretty much. This isn't "Apple Vista" we're talking about here. 10.4 is a good OS and there's no rush to upgrade.
There doesn't seem to be much of a rush to upgrade to Vista either.
...Cell was supposed (at that point) to be a uibquitous chip that would end up in TVs and toasters.
I just hope they have a better marketing campaign for the toasters than they do for the PS3... "This is toasting"
I could see with proper further development, ferrofluid might be able to do something similar.
Bob was, however by far the most innovative UI MS ever produced. It just innovated in a direction that nobody wanted to go!
Unfortunately, Packard Bell wanted to go there.
The key question here is, how many people will be unable to make that distinction?
Hopefully more than those who are able to discern Windows from Word. (As you might have guessed, I've done my share of Computer Tech/Help Desk work.)
thanks for that insight, Captain Obvious.

Well, there's always Windows XP on an 8Mhz Pentium with 20MB of RAM

Exactly, it's not like this is vi vs emacs.
Yeah, but can you build your own laptop?
Man, Slashdotters just don't understand.

Generally, they're after the biggest, baddest box for a reason.
Oh! Oh! I know! It's for the chicks, right?
...am I missing something? The parent spelled grammar correctly.

The open vs. closed thing doesn't work here. People just want their phone/PDA to work.
You could say the same thing about PCs.

Well, what about painful to your wallet?
