I'm just saying it's less cryptic than a myriad of different text files in different formats at different locations.
Yeah all those formats such as plain text and...uhm, plain text!
And for what it's worth most config files are either in ~/.appname or in/etc/appname/. (at least that's been my experience thus far and I don't claim to be any sort of Unix/Linux guru.)
Try out 3-4 distros and use what is most comfortable for you.
While the person asking sounds like he's relatively technically savvy, that is advice I would never tell to a person who is not very good with computers. Having to install more than one distribution of Linux and having to figure out how each of then work would drive the average person away from Linux really quickly.
While I haven't had the chance to test the browser out (it errored out this morning before I had to leave for work), I'd imagine that the browser treats the Wiimote as a pointer. This is because the Wii shop channel is a webpage (people have been able to access other sites from the Wii by using spoofed DNS servers and such and there are ways to access the Shop channel contents from within Firefox) that treats the Wiimote as a pointer.
Considering how Vista doesn't really have all that much to offer over XP anyway
...but..but..but..Microsoft told me it's the most secure and easiest to use version of Windows yet with enhanced multimedia and gaming functionality! (Of course, they also said the same thing about Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP)
For anybody who doesn't visit the PA forums, the rules (which are quite clearly posted at the top of each sub-forum) state that we aren't supposed to talk about ROMs or emulation unless otherwise OKed by a Mod. Also, anytime somebody is banned, it's publicaly documented in a "Who was Banned and Why" thread.
Microsoft will occasionally have free weekends that allow Live Silver members to play online for the weekend. These are usually held on big events such as E3 or X06 so you can't play for free every weekend. (though that's what I heard they were planning on when Microsoft first started talking about the 360.) Some games, such as Gears of War and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter do come with codes that you can redeem to get 48 hours of Live Gold membership for free. I kind of wish most games would come with this so more people could try it out. It should also be noted that when you first setup your account, you automatically get a month of Live Gold for free.
The PS2 was one of the most expensive consoles ever when it launched.
The PS1 (like the PS2) launched for $300. The Sega Saturn launched for $400. The 3D0 was $700 at launch. For some people, $300 might be a lot of money, but I wouldn't say that that the PS2 was one of the most expensive consoles at launch.
"Stupider" is perfectly valid word. Notice the first suffix in the below definition (taken from the New Oxford American Dictionary)
stupid
adjective ( -pider, -pidest)
lacking intelligence or common sense : I was stupid enough to think she was perfect.
dazed and unable to think clearly : apprehension was numbing her brain and making her stupid.
informal used to express exasperation or boredom : she told him to stop messing with his stupid painting.

She does if she's a Windows developer...just sayin' is all.
Its official title is Takedown
The question to ask, is, why use a knockoff like Windows when you can have the original?
;)
Because I can't find a place that sells Xerox Altos?

I'm thinking it's more of an issue of Sony worrying that somebody will be able to make boot-leg PS2/3 games and possibly Blu-Ray movies.
Apple Computer, on the verge of dying since 1976!
It's no longer called the "iTunes Music Store" It's now simply called the "iTunes Store" to reflect the change.
It could be argued that they still do that.
Hmm. I guess you're right, my bad. That's what I get for posting at work where I'm on a PC and can't verify.
There is no f5 (refresh key on Windows)
Refresh on OS X is CMD+R
Ya know, from what I've heard, Emacs is a great OS, it just lacks a good text editor. ;)

Crysis also has a DirectX 9 rendering path.

And the program that you have to use to put the MP3's on your iPod? iTunes
Don't forget Winamp, Ephpod, GNUpod, and others
The one OS that you can run on your Apple box? OSX
Also Linux, BSD, and Windows*
*Requires Intel Mac

..except for the fact that the PS3 offers no enhancements for PS1 or PS2 games, at all.
...but i think people should just move on.
If you were talking about NetHack, you'd probably get lynched around here.
Weenies?
...of course you could have played Quake 3 with a KB/Mouse online on the Dreamcast.
The low-end JDM PS3 gets HDMI and a ~$100 price drop but AFAIK neither one has been announced for the USDM PS3.
While the prices in the US are still $500/$600, all models include HDMI output now.
