I'll tell you who one this generation. IBM. The processor in side the Wii? Really fast G3 rerived processor. The CPU inside the XBox 360? A triple Core 3.2Ghz chip that's based on the G5. The Cell inside of the PS3? That's a PowerPC chip that was co-developed by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba.
The PS2 was $300 when it launched in the US. Not counting inflation, that's the same price as the original Playstation when it debuted. Though, I guess something being expensive can be relative.

..except for the fact that all of the animations are done on computer. Everything is done in house and usually takes only a few days to make an episode.
No, no, no. Don't you get it? This is HD-DVD! It's new and exciting! We're finally able to do things we've never had the space to do before? No, this is nothing like Dragonslayer or other laser disc games, nor is it like a FMV game. It's new! Buy it! Please?
If Introversion handles Defcon like they did Uplink and Darwinia, the Mac version will be released by Ambrosia at a later date. I'm not sure about the Linux version. There's a chance that might ship on the same disk, but there's not a mention of any version other than the Windows version on the games site.
Where in my statement does it imply my stance on where I want the money to flow? You're trying to politicize a comment that wasn't meant to be taken that way.
Care to show a source for that? You've said it at least twice now on this story. I know a lot of people in the gaming community are talking about the "Wii60" and how it would cost the same as the $600 PS3, but I don't remember Nintendo or Microsoft coming out and saying that directly.
Assuming we're talking US dollars, the PS2 sold at $300 at launch, not $400. Granted, you'd be spending about that much after picking up a game and a memory card.
The thing about Napoleon Dynamite is that it was supposed to my type of movie. I love quirky independent films with an odd sense of humor. When I finally saw Napoleon Dyanamite, I couldn't understand what was so great about it. Granted there were some scenes that I thought were funny, but hearing "Vote for Pedro" and "Idiot!" over and over by people who normally don't like those types of films seemed only to annoy.
Basically the guy suggested that the authentication dialog should have a user customisable image (you would customise in control panel). That way when the password entry dialog appears the person would know whether the password request dialog was being provieded by the system, or being faked. The idea is that the is little chance in the rogue program working out the image the user used to authenticate password dialogs.
This would probably work really well until somebody figured out how to access the customized image. Then a piece of malware could just have a variable for the image that gets filled in by the user's image at run time.
You need a special client to load it and it only loads AAC.
My iPod seems to play MP3s just fine. While iTunes is the only supported client, there are a number of audio applications available for Windows, OSX, and Linux that have iPod support.
Your number 1 probably addresses this, but does that also include the ability to relaunch? If we land people on Mars, we're (probably) going to need to bring them back. It seems like a logistical nightmare right now. Not only do we have to make sure that conditions for launch on a foreign planet are good, but also we would (presumabley - I'm no rocket scientist) have to have some sort of launch pad from which to take off.

I thought Captain N was the game master? Maybe I just watched too many cartoons as a kid.

The Dreamcast launched in 1999 (in the US) for $200.

Man, I bet Major League Baseball is going to be pissed about this.

Is it just me or does the math in the summary not add up?
"More than half of MySpace's users are now 35 or older."
Remember, "more than half" is >=51%
"...the 35-54 group at MySpace grew to 41 percent in August"
I'll be honest, I'm not so great at math, but I could have sworn that 41 51.

You'd rather us send our money to the Japanese?

Xbox should have a new slogan, "Buy American".
Ignoring the fact that, you know, the systems are made in Mexico.

I don't think the Wiimote and nunchuck would do much good.
I was thinking the same thing. However, I think that the Wii's controller and attachment would be excellent for a "Drum Hero" game.
The reason for this is that Linux users, unlike Mac users, build thier own computers...
..what if you use Linux on a Mac?

And I never got viruses when I ran Windows, but that doesn't make it secure.
