....when logging into any version of Windows is to turn the damn sounds OFF!!! That's what we have flashing tray, task and window icons for!! The last thing I want to hear while listening to my pirated RIAA music is the "DING!" asking me "Are you sure you want to delete this file?" and other useless crap.
ROFL! Man, you AC's are killing me! Would you prefer I call it an "enterprise level workflow, collaboration and communication" server? Sorry, but resorting to name calling just displays your level of understanding this conversation. Have a great day!:-)
LOL! Damn, that was hysterical. Anyway, as an ex-Domino administrator, Lotus Notes is indeed too bloated AND too hard for the end user monkeys. However, as a current Exchange administrator, Domino 0wnZ Exchange's sorry ass. In all my years of managing email servers, I have never hated an application like I hate MS Exchange. Lotus should have gone down the Outlook path to simplicity long ago. I will say this: Outlook 2003 is Monkey User Friendly.
I think what makes VMware stand out from all of the rest is Virtual Center and what it brings to the table. Being able to manage ALL of your VM servers hosted on ALL of your ESX servers is a huge plus. And while this version of Virtual Center absolutely has is shortcomings, the next version of both VC and ESX are really going to raise the bar from what I've seen. The mainframe has come full circle.
ROFL!! That was too damn funny. It's like the ol' "It's just a flesh wound" bit from Holy Grail. Sometimes, I wonder WTF these AV companies really hope to accomplish by providing crap information like the initial report? No doubt they are now worried about MS's Av solution. These idiots will never learn.
Exactly. When I watch live tv, I watch it on the regular connection. For everything else, there's MythTV. I don't watch "LiveTV" through it just because I'm not interested in pausing what I'm watching. That's what the PVR portion of it is for. AND it does a great job of flagging and skippng those pesky commercials. Talk about optimized viewing! Your typical 60 min show is actually about 40 mins. long if you cut out all the ad crap. And that's the way I like it!
And to those TV execs that are whinning about the auto commercial skip, WTF do you care! My PVR is still recording the fucking things which means that you have a "viewer" during that entire time. So what if I don't want to watch ad's. That's my fucking choice, assholes.
Being a current MythTV user, I am quite impressed with what I am seeing in GB-PVR. Lot's of similiar features between the two. If they can get MAME running in there, that would rock.
How does ANY loss benefit a company that's trying to cut costs and save money?? This is purely MS sitcking the screws to VMware for winning in the virtual server arena. Let's fuck the customer via licensing since we got 0wneD by VMware. This is pure bullshit on Microsoft's side. Guess I'll just have to "modify" the number of CPU's that my VM's use when it's time to renew my licenses.
A friend of mine has a theory that some day, the RIAA will try to charge you for every time that you either hum or sing a song in your head. They'll be able to access your neural music pathways via a "B-Chip" which will be programmable via a RFID chip:-)
I also recommend Domino. I have been running a Domino 5x server for 4500 clients for the last 4 years on 1 server (with a 2nd in failover mode). Running and taking care of the server is cake. The Domino Admin. client blows away the Exchange admin. client by a long shot. Every Exchange admin. that sees what I can do via Domino is in awe. The Notes client has gotten better and for a company of 100, it'll be a breeze to manage. And it runs under Linux so you can save on the cost of a Win2K3 server license.
I agree. That's where I usually start at. Helps clear my mind and relax me. I think for a project this large, you're going to need to get laid on a regular basis if you're planning on surviving this.

Yeah, I'm running Picasa and Google Earth on my Gentoo box. He really needs to lay off the crack.
Ctrl+Alt+Del ;-)

...that's because they are godless heathens! ;-)
Anybody know who makes the case? I already have a MythTV system based on KnoppMyth. I just need to "beautify" it :-)

I was really starting to feel unloved by the virus writers just because I'm running Linux. Talk about discrimination!! ;-)

"Me fail English?? That's unpossible!"

That is one nice appliance. Question: what is the programmability of that remote like? Does it do a good job of holding it's settings?
"Today's user wants to grab just about anything and not worry about installing it and making it work."
If they want to just install a device and go, then why are they bothering with Windows? Isn't that what Apple OS X is for?
Excuse my ignorance but, wouldn't it have been better to use a RF remote as oppose to an IR one?
Mythical desert isles have their own power source....DUH! ;-)
Who cares.
;-)
As far as I'm concerned, they can spend all their money on crap like this. In the long run, it will be another MS Bob
God, I love reading quotes from this idiot! He is a marketing person's worst nightmare in the form of a bald gorilla. Keep up the great work, Steve ;-)
...is that bull shit I smell?? Man, these guys just don't get it do they? Let's see if the site can handle a /.ing ;-)
