OK... if a pure matter to energy conversion took place...
Energy = Mass(Speed of light)^2
Assume a 90kg person, and C= 2997992458 m/s
Energy = 90kg(299792458m/s)^2
Energy = 90(8.9876e16)
Energy =5.3925e18 kg-m/s or 163,410,032,498,000,000 kilowatts
SO in short, that shroud wouldn't have an image burned in, the shroud (along with a good deal of the surrounding tomb and Pilate's Guards would have been vaporised.:)... the problem when applying human logic to Devine events...
or are we going to end up a straight-to-video world?
GOD i hope not... if these people are gonna hype a movie like crazy, and make me just ITCH to see it I shure as hell BETTER get to see it on a screen bigger than 27 inches and with sound that is crystal clear, and makes the room shudder... without pissing off the neighbors.
I think there is something to be said for the 'theatre experience' Its just not the same to watch a movie on video/dvd! I'll gladly shell out 10 bucks to see a movie in a theatre, it keeps me from having to spend tens of thousands of $$ for my home equipment:)
you didnt read far enough then! I'm not saying make non-traditional, use the same TV commercial, but (like some current ads) make it such that you may want to slow down the fast forward not to go over it.... make the ad apealing, not annoying.
either make them REALLY eye catching so i notice them when i fastforward over them(which works, cuz if i DO see an ad worth watching i slow down and take a look, and am still able to skip over the feminine itching ads)
or make them in slow-mo:) that way you'd see them in normal time FFing over them... sux to be a normal TV veiwer hehe:)
Identify as Opera: dont work Identify as Mozilla 5.0: dont work Identify as Mozilla 4.76: Works Identify as Mozilla 3.0: dont work Identify as MSIE 5.0: Works(duh!)
Yet, in Opera, all the pages are rendered the same way, and all pages in hotmail work fine in Opera assuming you identify it as a 'preferred browser'. So, its not a functionality issue, just a "use our damn browser or else" issue. A DDoS attack from MSN to non-IE users? hehe
... I got in and out of a 2 year SysAdmin program(AAS degree). WELL worth the time. I'm glad I went, and now I wish I would have done the full 4 years.
I found that sys admin is not as much about knowing computers, but about managment of computers, resources, etc. Things I never would've picked up outside of school, on-the-job-on-the-fly(like most of my technical knowlege) type learning. The college forced me into quite a few 'unrelated' classes but for dealing with the managment end of sysadmin, the experience is priceless.
Also, for me I wish i would've stayed for another 2 years to get a BS degree. Becuase now that I have a full time job, its almost IMPOSSIBLE to go back to school. Time is a finite resource. I had the time before, but with a full time job, heh, good luck. And I'm kinda outa luck in the advancment department, the fields I want to get into all REQUIRE a 4 year degree, so I'm SOL right now.
Go to school, get it over with. Do it while you have the time and the drive.
I dont know HOW many times i've looked at a tech manual(or other paper book for that matter)trying to find something I read a while ago and thought " i wish i could just do a text search to find the 3 or so words i remember seeing..." Sure theindex and table of contents gets you part of the way there, but if the author mentions something off-hand in an 'unrelated' section of the book...
Ok i'm all for lobbying against the bill... but PLLLLLLLLLLEAAAAAAAASE dont show more of that cow!!!!! I hope Steve from Dell eats it! then gets mad cow disease and dies!!
ditto!!! I deal with a CEO of a mem distributor.. it has tripled in the last 2 months.. we were gettin about 30 for a stick of 256pc100, now its well over 88
...reports of fatal data collisions are up 300% today, due to little 1's and 0's comming down off a 2400mhz processor slamming into 333mhz ram and careening down to a 33mhz PCI bus...that's GOTTA hurt!
... i didnt catch the fact that its april 1 today at first... but then i read the part where i'm supposed to email Hemos... and its posted by CmdrTaco...
This sounds suspicously like geeks in space when ur supposed to email The Pope 1024 copies of 0:)
I'll be Hemos is getting KILLED by ppl who dont get it:) One way to weed out the not-so-quick users:)
The only thing in can think of why they have it on yahoo groups is (beside reliability issues:)) advertisement. Its a nice searchable DB of groups. Which is really nice for tech forums that ppl need to be able to find...
I used phpnuke. Slash-like, runs on any server capable of mysql and php.. VERY easy to install and administer. I use tzo.com's dymanic dns service myself... although dyndns is cheaper:) i just forgot about it when i set it up(i'm a previous tzo customer.. so i knew about that one from a few years ago)
i tried slascode, but couldnt get the mod_perl to work quite right... and found php nuke much more admin friendly
my group is at linuxdistro.tzo.com right now, soon it will be just linuxdistro.com...
whether or not they stand to lose money in lost Mac sales or gain money in extra iPod sales.
will people really buy a mac just to use an ipod? No WAY i'd spend the extra $$ for a mac(and loss of some software selection and hardware support) just to use an MP3 player... I should think more ppl will buy ipod if it works with their existing, or cheaper systems. I know i would if it works with my linux box...
i need to get out more... never seen this slashdot theme before.. nice:)
