I don't want my computer to play classic atari games better than me I want it to make my work easier so I can have more time to play classic atari games, just saying.
I have five sons the oldest never had a cell phone, the Internet was dial-up, and had limited access to Internet and technology most of his high school years. The youngest is still in high school has a 5.5 in cell phone with more features than a computer of the early 90s and unlimited Internet access. All of my sons are different but the oldest and youngest are like night and day and it has everything to do with the distraction of technology and a society built on the ideals of instant information and instant gratification. He has trouble studying unless you take away his cell phone.
FYI the youngest thinks weblogs are somehow accurate...I'll take a Chilton's manual over Joe Blows weblog any day.
I went to school in Kansas they taught evolution in the 70s so I'm not sure what you are talking about. I do know that every few years a few wack jobs try to get that changed but that they still teach evolution and climate change. Sometimes it's the small crazy groups with the loudest voice that get the most attention doesn't mean they get their way.
Yeah, hard drives are no where near as expensive as they used to be, even a small desktop can run a local server today and serve up 3-4 streams even over wireless. I wanted to do it a little over 10 years ago and didn't because storage and a system to run it on was cost prohibitive but tried again and have been running this system for a couple years and saved myself a bundle over cable.
There are other differences as well. A contractor may hold many contracts simultaneously and sub-contract work. Would Uber allow me to have a fleet of vehicles and drivers or to provide services to both them and a local competitor?
I've had my rokus for a while before the roku 3 and I'm not the type to upgrade just because something shiny, so I'm not sure what they have yet. My wife does however love playon because she can switch from tablet to tv seamlessly.
My roku doesn't have a voice search but the roku app on my cell phone and tablet can control any roku in the house and use voice or on screen keyboard input for searches has netflix, hulu, amazon, itunes through plex I can play content on my tablet and send it to any of my $69 roku devices pause and switch to a different device without missing anything.
Mostly I only use gimp to make icons or the occasional logo but since it was the first software of it's type that I learned to use I imagine it made learning it easier.
I could switch to linux on my personal box anytime I'm not a gamer and all the software I use is open source and cross platform. At work on the other hand outlook would be the top of the list... they have it working mac shouldn't be that great a leap.
I don't do much work with photos or digital art however I do use gimp it can be skinned and switched to single window mode so it more resembles photoshop's interface. I have no idea if it has the same features but was under the impression that it did have nearly all the same plus a few.
More like a cop asks you to open someone else's locked car because it's parked in your parking lot. They can tow it and break into it but you can't unlock it because you don't have the keys.
So you will be harassed for any problem that involves using electricity.
I had an exec ask me if I could fix the plug-in and lamp in his office once, I jokingly asked if he was promoting me to "stuff that uses electricity dept". He thought it was so funny that he started introducing me to people as the "VP of Shit that uses Electricity"
Don't tell anyone I have money especially my kids, settle my debts , don't spend it all in one place, continue working {a few more years so no one is the wiser}, do some home improvements, retire, go fishing.
My youngest brother is not so tech savvy asked why websites always looks different on my PC... the answer adblocker... I built him a new PC with ubuntu lts and KDE with a windows like layout and installed firefox and chrome w/adblocker, open office, a few other open source replacements, setup the printer, email, etc... I was worried his wife wouldn't like it and I would be installing win 7 in a month but they both love it everything was already setup and it was familiar enough that they don't even ask questions. I imagine the android tablets and phones have given them enough exposure to an alternative os that it wasn't big deal so long as everything worked.
On to the point... no clue but I have installed adblocker for multiple friends and family.
Well Beth needs to get off KU campus and go take a drive through the rest of Kansas listen to some local radio maybe she won't need records when she finds she can't throw a rock without hitting Republican.
Of the option presented the most practical would be dropping pepper spray or tear gas like a crop duster... question is who would they be dropping it on... protesters, strikes, and picket lines? Criminals aren't going to bunch up in a crowd out in the open so you can dust them with pepper spray...
Colleges have become obsessed with how students feel about words. That's the first thing to fix. Life doesn't care how you feel, and you can't be an adult without accepting that
Colleges have to care how their customers feel about their services. Life doesn't care how you feel but a college isn't life and has to treat it's students well if it hopes for them to keep paying large tuition fees every year. Just like any business hoping to have a loyal customer base.
I don't need a super learning neural network artificial intelligence to automate 30-40% of all the jobs at my company.
Yes the TPS reports will be in on time with the new cover sheet... I just added it to the script that makes them for me.

Where did you get that information on VW?

There are like two dozen new ones in my fence line every week when I mow.
If you would like to have more trees build a chain link fence... Mine appears to grow plenty of trees.
Brawndo, it's got what plants crave.

Do you mean like a drone dropping pepper spray on protesters like a crop duster? That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the headline.
