  1. Viral on Blizzard Launches Third WoW Expansion, Cataclysm · · Score: 1

I seriously dont know of any other game except maybe Everquest which has been responsible for ruining so many of my friends lives lol. I dont mean to laugh but several have lost their jobs calling off fake sick and being caught on the servers by their supervisors who are ALSO playing WOW on their legitimate days off, not very smart lol. Several close friends of mine have also lost their girlfriends and one ended his marriage all over this damn Game. Ya cant blame the game or the game designers I am certain that they didnt develop the game with the intention of wrecking homes but that is indeed what it does. They need self help groups like AA for WOW players who obsess over their DPS lol. This new expansion is going to haul friends of mine who managed to pull themselves away from the game after months and months of grinding their social interaction percentage will now fall to 0 as they quest for ever highter dps lol.

To be branded as a possible security risk simply because you disagree with the practices of Big Brother, because you choose to read materials which might paint Big Brother as not being so kind, gentle and humane as they may want you to think they are... They have to be wary of people who have far from their best interests at heart. There was a time where you could set your kids loose on their own to explore the world. You really cant do that anymore. Its so hard nowadays to protect kids from a world which is full of danger, and you cant keep them away you can only prepare them the best you can. The internet is the same way I fully support introducing kids to technology it will be a large part of their lives for the rest of their years. Much like the world outside though the net has its dangers too. So its our responsibility to try and protect them from those dangers as well.

We can argue the differences all day long but they are both violent and in the case of WOW, personally, ive seen friends lives ruined by the game. It was there choice to let the game interfere with their relationships granted but the idea that any game would have that sort of pull on a person is extremely disturbing, and giving it to a 4 yr old might as well be allowing your 4 yr old to smoke a joint with dad.

We learn through input, the more information we feed on the more efficient the machine we become. We are now in a trend where we are de-evolving technologically. Actually discovering inferior technologies to compensate for the flaws that we as superior tech are hardcoded with. Like our inability to cheat death, and our inability to keep our system from degrading. Life compensates for this by allowing us to transfer our most vital information through DNA adding information along the way. This isnt good enough for us. We, unlike most computers, have the ability to overcome obstacles set in our path. One could argue that this is a preprogrammed skill set. Much like a complex computer application which is designed to react depending on the external stimulae.. I dont prescribe to the soul idea. I do believe however that man is just a shell like a PC case to house all the data we harvest. I dont know what happens when the physical body dies but I would suspect that the pure information we are composed off exists in some form or another.

You can legally have a backup of that software, its distro that the government is really hungry for.. back on IRC piracy was rampant through the use of XDCC servers, for those who dont know this was like logging into a virtual flea market where everything was free. You are given access to the host computers libraries and able to download whatever they give access too. Torrents have made the practice a lot less practical but it was also more descreet.. The big issue with XDCC and distro is the host computers were often bot-infected machines hosting hundreds of gigs of files and the most popular content was often expensive software, movies games and music far before release.

Hell I was turned on to Metallica because someone gave me a mix tape! When CD copying became rampant my friends didnt change. It just made the sharing faster and more convenient. And then P2P came about and the sharing became even faster and more convenient. There are bands I never would have stumbled across if it wasnt for Napster (old). There are bands that never would have reached popularity if it wasnt for P2P sharing and Youtube. They should allow free sharing of music. Dave Mustain said it best that his songs are his business cards and his live concerts are where he makes his real money. The RIAA is a joke a foaming at the mouth bully hell bent on making their point by destroying random peoples lives, they are like a rabid attack dog for a music industry which, in my opinion, is enveloped in the same maelstrom of bullshit as gaming and the movie industry. Make it faster, and quicker and sacrifice quality in favor of glitz. With music it is 'Come up with a chart topper, doesnt matter if the other 12 songs are shit we can sell Cds with a #1 hit'. That has always been my issue is that i was at one time being forced to purchase (if i legally wanted the song that is) a CD that had one song on it i really wanted but the rest was garbage. At that time a disk from Metallica cost me 24 to 29 bucks! Nowadays though I cant complain about prices because HMV often has amazing deals on CDs (5 to 7 bucks) maybe a bit more for classics like Metallica and AC/DC. It remains though that Mp3s and downloading music is just much more convenient, it saves time, money and space. Rant complete! Legalize piracy of music and pot!

They are better at shrouding their illicit activities because they have a better intelligence network. The US will gladly toss human rights to further their goals in the pursuit of freedom. There are countless examples of the US blatant disregard for international policy, law, treaty etc. I am in no way anti-us i am simply stating that any government with a game changing power should be feared. And, that as much as we demonize entire nations, their citizens and their way of life. Its the governments that ultimately execute policy. Conflict breeds hate, and when you have 2 sides to a coin and both sides are living in line with their beliefs and fighting for causes that they believe is just. Who really is evil? Is the horror of seeing someone get their head sawed off as a political statement really any more insidious than someone clean killing a city block full of civilians from a mile away on a boat to inspire terror and fear....? This may appeal to some of course but for me? I enjoy the pick-up-and-play one button into the action fix that i get from consoles. Like most things however it has become less and less about making a quality, immersive, detailed game and more about the bottom line and it doesnt matter in that case if your pro PC, pro console or both.

Its not so easy to just decide to up and replace a unit, even if a company IS at fault it can take a long time for a proper investigation to be complete... complaint/trend/capture/investigate/determination of issue/course of action to take when fault is determined/legal department to make sure everything and i mean everything is reviewed and re-reviewed to be accurate and legal/authorization to implement course of action/implementation of course of action.... and none of that process is completed very quickly.

Could be because Hp wasnt at fault, that their engineering dept in light of the revelation that this issue caused on OEM machines regarding faulty nvidia chipsets was not actually the fault of the OEM. They did not knowingly install faulty hardware on the units. While the issue was being investigated Hp most certainly did put in place a program to assist customers that were sold these units once the time line for these installations was determined. For a period of 24 months after this came to light Hp was replacing the mobos on these affected units, after that 24 month period Hp offers a reduced cost of repair. Now there is a official website for people affected by the nvidia chipset issue and the suit that was filed. I suspect that Hp and other OEM companies will be compensated by nvidia for any loss they may have suffered because of this. Although on the official website it states that nvidia itself admits no fault.

A few weeks later a newly married kid i went to school with got intimate and interactive with a tree, they had to cut the tree down because they couldnt get all the blood and bone shards out of the bark. He had been texting about picking up KFC on the way home. I am anti-human completely, for all the intelligent people we have in the world we squabble and argue and compartmentalize absolutely everything. We spend so much time bickering and arguing and debating absolutely EVERYTHING and this forum and others like it are perfect examples of this. STUPID is STUPID and its a sad commentary on humanity when we have to develop laws to protect people from what should be common sense. And when you have laws created by stupid people to govern stupid people (and i am by no means excluded) what we end up with is the world we live in. Where the laws do as much to protect criminals as it does to protect the innocent. I am sure this will be cried out as a flame but its not its a harsh reality most of us are to IGNORANT to admit to, too much pride to believe we may be wrong, about just about everything. For all the bugs that they do catch your only going to find the obscure ones and lets face it some of the more obvious through widespread use, that being said though, i loved Fallout 3 and Vegas on console and even it wasnt without its bugs. - Quests would simply dissapear with no real reason - NPC followers would get trapped in the environment - Occassionally objects that I shot in vats would attach themselves to my barrel - Gradual increase in load times until the game just crashed - Items appearing and dissapearing from my inventory - Allies inexplicably recognizing me as a enemy while others remain friendly. - At one point at the cave at Camp Guardian when I entered the cave and exited the graphics remained blurry for over a hour before i went back and repeated the process and fixed it. And you know, despite all that crap Fallout New Vegas was STILL amazing and I put more than 86 hours into the game overall.

For all he knows of the internet and computers these applications are legit, until I educated him otherwise. Now though the game has changed it used to be a anonymous application that was the problem but now you have help desk clients like iyogi which claim to be affiliated with major OEM vendors they charge you for service, generally a fraction of the OEM cost, and if anything goes wrong and you request a refund they send you back to the OEM who obviously will not refund the victim the cost of the service.
