    With the early 486 cpu's we had the extra fpu chip

    In the 80486 it was already integrated. It was a seperate chip in the 80286 timeframe.

    In the 80486 time there was a 486sx that was a 80486 with a fused FPU unit.

    But you are right, the parent poster does not properly makes a distinction between OS & hardware.

    it is explained here at theinquererfor windows. Basically it mean if a applcation is licenced for a single processor it will use the first processor(even if i is a dual processor system.

    There are no real problems if:
    -You buy licences for real processors and the software does not check it.
    -The software runs only on the number of (real)processors it is licences for: it just does not use the hyper threading. (This is the case for the current windows XP & windows 2000)

    There is a problem
    -The software aborts if it detects more (real) processors than it is licenced for.
    I do no know such software. Or it is software that is tied so close to hareware it fails anyway if it is put on new hardware.

    Note that you can still disable hyperthreading in the bios.

    Well a lot of mod points get the wrong direction lately. Too bad.

    A big difference between kazaa & freenet is that freenet only a communication protocol. The searching for files requires an application on top of freenet. standard you get a "proxy" for freenet so you can browse freenet like the internet. But there is not yet a google on freenet, THe other popular appilication on freenet is "frost". This a messageboard where people exchange "links(chk keys)" that contain interesting "documents/files"

    The downside is that you cannot control the lifetime of data. Data will "randomly" fall out of freenet. This is in practive a weak point of freenet.

    -Add Data, upto original size of file.

    It is as simple as that, just unbind the netbios protocol from the tcp/ip stack that is linked to the internetet.

    NT4: control panel -> network -> services -> services, just make sure under your internet ip (dail up adpater) nothing else then tcp/ip is checked.

    win2000: network -> make sure only tcp/ip is checked.

    Stopping the messager services will stop the spam, an leaves your PC open to the internet. But it helps against BOFH.

    And i just discovered that deamon tools support this new "physical properties" of the new securom with the use of MDS files. So you can copy also the new secucom cd's to HD and keep the orinal cd's in the safe.

    I also failed to copy diablo.

    However i managed to copy it to my HD with 2 tools:

    - clone cd
    - daemon tools

    just make an image with clone cd and mount that image with deamon tools in a virual cd-rom. If you have a big HD you can have a lot of cd's ready to play.

    Don't enable "securom" emulation in daemon tools. deamon tools already delivers sub-data correctly and make it a good copy.

    I made a couple of coasters trying to burn this image to cd.

    I vote for opera.

    I learned gestures on opera. On mozilla they are different, I want my opera settings under mozilla, and i don't want to spend time programming it, if that is possible. (I want to save time).

    Why are the gestures under mozilla different from opera? don't blaim XUL!

    pure distilled water would be good. But the moment it touches you pc components its gets contermintated with all the dust that collected in your pc. It becomes a conductor.

    Although i heard some stories of people dropping a soda (accidentally) in their pc. After cleanup they lived happely ever after.
