I like green, but the forest green that is used on slashdot is quite ugly and everybody knows that. Why is it that noone has the guts to try out something different.
I think Taco has threw everybody off by declaring that he expects curves, green and white.. this is why all these websites look so alike. I was really expecting something along the likes of CSS Zen Garden experience, where people really thought out-side the box.
Having visited each of the candidates, pretty much all of these make your stomach churn and are definatelly not that easy on the eyes, not to say pleasant.
Out of these three candidates, I liked #2, but I wish there would be a little less white space between left part and the story.
I would buy Mac Mini in a second, but to me, the real problem is that I won't be able to enjoy watching movies on it, since most of my movie collection is in.avi with either Divx or Xvid codec.
I know that I should be able to play that if I were to install VLC on it, but then my collection will not be usable via FrontRow, and I am not sure if the remote will work with VLC.
Since we are having this vital issue discussed, I would like to ask the following question:
What are the proper rules for adjusting brightness and contrast on an LCD monitor so a to ensure the best effect for the eyes? Are there any guidelines?
Should not processor B ($200) and equipment ($500) total to $700 and not $650?

This is quite easy. For example, famous Homer's expression "Mmm.. beer.." was referenced just yesterday.. Someone was talking about PIE charts, so some slashdotter immediately replied "Mmm... pie... "
When I went to Dan's homepage and clicked on one of the reviews, my antivirus program has informed me that there was a malware Javascript virus that tried to be executed. That certainly means that I am not going to his website ever again.
As for the main article, I am surprised how badly it is written. Poor language use and overall structure.
I wonder what made them make such a poor choice. The right choice would have been to go with Compact Flash or SD, if you want smaller. Memory stick is still a Sony bound product (I know that now there are other manufacturers) and underperforms other cards, since there's no such fierce competition.
I am not sure I did anything special. Just installed Doom III, and I think it detected all the hardware. What I am really puzzled about is the sound stopping.. Don't know what to do about it.
I loved Doom III, however, I have a Soundblaster Audigy Gamer, and when I enable surround sound in Doom III... it works until some arbitrary new sound is introduced in the game.. and then it stops... I have to go to the options, toggle surround setting on and off.. then I get the sound for another 10-15 minutes.. if surround sound is off I do not get this problem.
If you rub it vigorously your finger turns silver. If you scratch it you get flakes of metal under your fingernail and you can see right through the resulting hole.

Apparently you've never kept a fish tank. Trust me, it is much harder to attend for marine tank than for a fresh water one.
A pressurized tank would cost many thousands of dollars and would present a great hazard to life and to the apartment. A glowing GM fish on the other hand would cost only a few bucks.

I live in Toronto, and have actually tried to connect to this service quite a few times this morning.
Everytime I get "There was an error joining the AirPort network "One Zone_High Speed Internet"" (I am using MacBook Pro, by the way).
Has anyone been able to establish a connection today?
