But assume it works and your kid doesn't watch tv, instead he goes and hangs out with his friends for the weekdays? Assume he doesn't go to their house to watch tv, (which he could) but instead just hangs out. Then someone offers him drugs and he ends up doing it because they are his friends, because he has nothing else to do, because for what ever reason he wants to have fun.

Ok so let's assume you don't allow your kid to watch tv, nor do you let him hang out on school nights. What the fuck is a kid going to do for those hours when he's not in school but not out of the house? Stare at the wall? Study? The simple fact is maybe our students will become smarter for it, but there's a LOT more to childhood then good grades. Children need time to learn how to interact with people, to relax, to have fun. Not to be forced into a situation where everything is work work work. They have the rest of their lives for that.

Studies like this might show us how to find a smarter student, but grades don't matter in the long run. I'd much rather have a son who actually has a fun childhood then a brainiac who can cure cancer but can't even have a normal conversation.

Sony actually has to have a "must buy game". Sony will sell millions of consoles in the life time, but that's assured only because of the fact square is making FFXIII for it. However more and more developers are going to the Xbox 360 because it's easier to program for and has a longer install base.

The next gen war hasn't started but the soliders are already assembled, and Sony is in the valley with no cover, and little reinforcements. Nintendo has already gone home to the beer hall and had a party, and Microsoft is rolling a giant ball (Katamari if you will to the edge of the cliff)

The problem with Sony's position is unless your in japan there's little reason not to pick up a 360 over a ps3. Most of the best games will be multi platform and those that arn't will have a compareable game on the other system. The JRPG factor is an inconvience but there's already a couple of those on the 360 and more coming.

Now Japan is Sony's last fortress, but it'll erode if Mistwalker delivers two great RPGs in the next 6 monthes. That alone will start Microsoft's rise there hopefully (and if that doesn't nothing will)

Sony needs to sell systems NOW even with out true games. Having an install base of 2 million by christmas is nothing next to Microsoft's nearly 5 million already. Sony needs to bring something to get gamers to buy the system, at 200 dollars more, and similar or weaker games (and they are weaker for exclusives) Sony isn't going to sell millions just for that. Even japanese companies are making 360 games.

The simple fact is for every launch title (out of sub 20) the 360 have similar games. To me the only interesting one was Bladestorm (from Koei) but if I add up my interest I see maybe 200 dollars worth of "interest" out of the 600 I have to build up and this includes "GT HD". They need to get 600 dollars out of people and they arn't going to do it with ports, or even simultanious launches.

They've had the advantage, they took the risk but they didn't insure victory, and that's what will kill them. They didn't just come out late, they are coming out late and weak.

And btw Microsoft is still at the beer hall, Mario just grabbed Samus' bum. Good times.

If anything this is by far the worse choice we can make because then the bickering and fighting will destroy what fragile goverment we have left. You seem to be against terror but democrats don't see it as a major issue.

What I think is crucial is to put in more independants if you can't stand the republicans, but to give it to people who have spent the last 6 years proving they will not work with our current LEGALLY elected leader that won the popular vote and electoral vote in 2004 will be the final nail in our democracy until we re-elect a republican congress or a new leader. I don't want 2 years of a complete stalemate between the leadership. I don't agree with all of the Republican choices but at least there's movements.

The biggest flaw though remains the fact that democrats and republicans both act in one of two ways.

    1. "X has no plans to get out of Iraq he's just using it to scare the people and win an election" This has been said by a person running for congress. This person believes just because our leadership hasn't shared their plans, plans that would allow the other side in a conflict to just wait satisfy a couple conditions to get rid of us, we have no plans. What really is happening is she has no idea how to get out of Iraq safely so it only stands to reason this other person does too. Basically stop trying to generalize about the other side especially if you never even tried to work with them.

    2. "X is going to steal the election" When they say this I'm sure in the back of their mind they are thinking "Well we're going to steal it another way, so screw them" Neither side has a monopoly on morality, nor does either side have a monopoly on any other virtue. In fact I'd say BOTH sides have a deficit. As such both sides need to stop pointing fingers and work together to solve problems like this. Not claim the other side is trying to steal the election. The minute that this information was found out why didn't the election officals have a meeting with the candidates to work out how to fix this? Because neither side wants it to be fixed. They can use it to attack each other instead.

Yes I used Democrats in examples, but guess what. Republicans are to blame too for the same group think, finger pointing crap.

Overall what I wish for is the abolishment of both parties and people to work together on issues, and to stick to them, rather then jumping in the party bandwagon for fear of being called a trator.

Don't tell me what you "will do for me" to get elected. Tell me what "you will do" and then DO IT. Can't pass it for some reason? find a way around it, bring it up. But just acting like a docile creature and then claiming it's because your party doesn't have enough control, or there wasn't enough support, or your too junior is a joke. Find people to agree with you, work together and get shit done. That's america. Not this crap we have where people talk about boring shit half the day and say they have done their job.
