  1. being obese is only a symptom on Sport Is Unrelated To Obesity In Children · · Score: 1

Studies that try to locate patterns in amounts of personal data often fail because they fail to consider complexity of human being in its entirety. There is no way to predict who will get fat, based on eviromental factors. Genetic predisposition(re: see family tree) is strongest of the factors. Thats why when you go to chinese restraunts, you notice that chinese in general are less obese then the other races visiting, and they can eat twice as much. Talking of development and functionality in terms of weight is useless, rather I'd hope people to see the energy factor. If you are able to maintain energy at most times of the day, except before the bed time, most likely you burn most of what you eat.

To maintain energy you'd need to balance many things, like exercise, diet, oxygen level intake(walks outside), social setting etc. Imagine keeping a ball in a center of a flat plate, plate which can bend and tilt in any direction. Overdoing anything is bad, eating little junk food is not necessary, but you can do that, especially in company of friends ... as long as its not every day.

Being overweight, is just like being sick - symptom of deeper problems. Given there are people who would be slightly overweight, and they look better that way. Slightly meaning not more then being 15-20% off your target weight.

After all president Bush has graduated from Ivy League school. So quality of knowledge cannot be verified by having school papers. Perhaps the most harmful thing can be done, is do guerilla marketing campaign to associate people who buy CDs with fact that if they rip the CD into MP3 they will face possibility to be jailed by recording company that has sold them the CD via RIAA. Or be faced with fine that will lead to their financial ruin.
I Canada we pay copy tax on all recordable media, so I can pirate as much as I want, it is within the law. As long as I buy blank CDs money will be paid to artists, sort of. Except I will not be buying into whole media distribution model and gives me a shrink wrapped CD.

There are many cases in point, where apple being from out west, having roots of hippie like company was selling products to university and promply ignoring any help/support requests thereafter. My professor had such dealings with apple. As such, this flower, hip counterculture company, with capitalist inner core and near supremacist individualism doesn't jive with people who want to get, just business tools. Just like you said, also this does not allow for competition on the account, because there is only one supplier of hardware and or two suppliers of software. Because it can run windows, that what business would like you would be paying premium on hardware anyway for letting it run OS X. I love OS X but in business it doesn't matter. Most business requirements are Word + Excel from Windows. With Dell you get nearly free copy of windows. With apple you got to shell out off the shelf price.
Given they have moved to Intel, is a great for making inroads in corporations. However it stride they take their large customers in, is appalling, from what I about them. It may well be changing. Apple care is still best of individual hardware servicing, IBM was only comparable.
I have ipod, powerbook and will get macpro soon too, just don't think the company is fit for dealing with businesses, because company would need to shift its focus from being customer geewhiz toys(and computers) into business to business corporation.

best of luck to them though.

If my company is public however, I would be stuck between rock and a hard place.Liability to investors for not attempting to get maximum profits is like that. They don't care who, what or at what cost the profit was earned. This sort of logic would hurt small companies, that make limited use small bits of software. But I guess it comes with territory. Instead of software, if you think its too dangerous, maybe you can become a lawyer, pharmacist or start company related to either of the two or many other possiblities. Software business is fantastic, because your distribution costs are zero, marketing is cheap and plentiful, unless you really want to build solid brand, then its gonna cost you some more, but by far it isn't as hard as it used to be.

People who get jail time for copying software, are just of sorts like galileo, were they really aren't stealing anything because they copy it not for actual profit but for hobby. Of course businesses won't care to cater to hobbyists that would need autocad to build their widget, so a shortcut can be taken.

However if you make money with the product it just isn't nice to not pay to the creator, you still want them to be around selling features that you want in your program right?

In bettween the two of the cases there is chasm of pleasureware, music players, games, image touch up software that comes free with 50$ printers etc. These people can't stop people who pirate that ware, so they have to have some value added stuff in the box. In general there is a balance though. Many people if they download pleasure warez , they would invest if its worth it. The first game I have purchased was half-life2 , it was so awesome, that not buying it was out of the question.Plus you go the box with hot CG girl on it. Notwithstanding forum admin asshats it was wonderful value.

I don't think anyone should be jailed as if they have robbed a bank for process of copying. And enven distributing. Real piracy happens in china and here as well, when people buy boxed software that was immaculately reproduced in some factory in guangdong, china.
