I am an immigrant and I don't give crap if people don't know eglish. I think that should be mandatory for people to know english or whatever language they want to speak, if they want to stay in the country. If you want to come to a country and not participate in its general culture, then you ought to go back. Most of the time people who don't wholeheartedly learn local customs and language(s), because dienchanted with state of affairs, cause general unrest, crime etc. Reason many , but idea is one. Staying here? Learn english. Or french. (that is in canada). In russia people are pretty severe if someone immigrates and doesn't learn local language. They general stay in lowest places of the society and never attain any legal status.

As for the languages, It is sort of odd. I heard that programming computers, does muck up you brain in general ways, and there is a half-life of the programmer that amounts to around 10 years of straight coding. (might be not true though when I do write alot of code at once, I can't align words quite right.)

And cingular or other providers won't bother if Jobs would push open standard onto them. Eventually they will all evolve for visual voice mail and other features. At that point iPhone 2.0 will have a huge harddrive or flash drive and will have voip calling, with all the features and people will be able to buy it without and cruddy contracts. Offering renumeration breaks down the idea that allofmp3 is a thief. I mean you can be devicive in terms of law, but that doesn't make you a crook, just somewhat illegal is fuzzy terms. Like when you shoot unregistered gun in the forest, is that really a procecutable crime? Like shooting someone with unregistered gun? What allofmp3 did, is offer alot of people choice, to have quality music, at prices they can afford. RIAA cartel is still in horse buggy whip business, where they want to maintain CD retail in way it was done since 80's, while technology in broad sense have moved on and is offering far better alternatives. They are pricing digital music as if they had to pay for warehousing each copy, paying for entire factory to be there, for people in brown coats that deliver cds, large real estate properties downtown. etc.

What they are afraid of is that music distribution is now a commodity. Really anyone can do it, who has some spare change in the pockets. If you have a bit more, you can do it really well, like all of mp3. If you have around say less then 100K then you can set up entire conversion workforce somewhere to put up CDs in whatever format users want. And have alot available in a short term. Something to compete with itunes and whatnot.

I'd say kudos to allofmp3, they have shown it that it can be done.

And it isn't about languages too, for the other half, but about behaviours, inconsistent and broken alot of times. You really have to do a balancing act. See how trivial application of google maps, doesn't work the same on all browsers. Until there is a rigid standard about ECMA script, akin to Java ones, one can't talk about proper interoperability and usefulness of such language.

Many projects incorporate python as a scripting language of choice.

Why do I think replacement of Java/ECMA script with python is good in terms of browser language? Because it is fast. It mandates proper and consistent tabulation. It eradicates puctuation in many, and un-necessary cases. It is also very very fast, if precomplied codes are used. Also I takes alot of C/Java programmer design, without making you feel like a downgraded programmer, who is allowed to use a knife only with safety blade that can't cut skin or meat. As well it has very clear way to lay out code in clear ideas. Proto-currying is built in, which is useful and full real currying in 2.5 is very usable with libraries. Sort of functional onto generic procedural programming.
