A prosthesis not as a sign of lack, but rather a symptom of excess. The Third Hand performances, with amplified body signals and sounds, have contributed to cyborg discourses on the body, included in more recent performances such as FRACTAL FLESH, PING BODY and PARASITE. A pretty capable machine at a decent price and low power draw. Yes more than a Raspberry PI, but multi cores and real USB controller is worth it (at least for my realtime audio needs).

It's totally silly. I'm not defending advertising or supporting it. I'm ashamedly acknowledging it's effect on myself. I certainly don't like it! It's gotten to all of us to certain degrees. If we don't recognize what that extent is, were truly doomed.
The point of advertising is not to sell products but to promote their existence. Laugh all you want at the Ronco Rotisserie Chicken machines or Ginzu knives, but we *all* know them. Without gravity, water floats in bubbles you can't easily blow out of the way and the surface tension can keep the film intact over your nose & mouth if their is enough. If you inhale a bubble, all you have is the force of your breath to blow it out. You can easily imagine a scenario where you run out of air in your lungs as the bubbles keep floating in front of your face in the helmet. Scary is putting it mildly.

Only 2.4% percent, well yeah... it's only CS people. Since when did technology development only depend on CS graduates? Last I checked, there are more and more focus/applied degrees every year which would probably take care of a good number of those positions. Not every job needs a theoretical background, and all of those job postings for "App Developers" probably don't require a hardcore degree a this point...

I half expect to see a developer unlock for OS X, so that by default, you can't install anything on OSX that isn't from the App Store.
They already have this, it's called Gatekeeper. You can simply turn it off in the Security settings. The moment you can't I won't be using OSX ...
