Ever try to watch a streaming HD vid with Flash? It ain't pretty and I have an AMDx2 6400+ with 8 gigs of ram. However I can watch HD videos all day long on a 1700+ AMD so long as it is some sort of streaming AVI.
I worked for a company that produced some of the first consumer NAS devices with media server capability and we were told that we could be sued if we stole, deleted or corrupted the customer's data on the hard drives. We backed them up before we did anything and if needed we gave them new hard drives. What is said in public about stipulations this and that is for show, the companies know that in some cases it only takes one pissed customer to ruin them.

Exactly, I know more people learning to program x86-64 arch than MIPS, PowerPC and IA-64 combined. Best bang for the buck right now is the 95 buck AMD 5000+ Black Edition, fully unlocked processor on a 65 nm die running at 65 watts stock. It is an easy and cheap overclock.

Helps me when I am using my 8 gb of system memory in 64 bit xp pro running CAD.
You don't drive very often from sea level to 8000 feet like we do here in Oregon and Washington or you would be used to it. Last one I changed was on a 68 VW bus though.
We are still using HTTP and FTP, who is to say that BT will not just slowly mature like those? If there is any standard P2P protocol emerging than BT would be in the top 3 along with Edonkey and DC++.
And the 1000's of pounds of petrol-based fertilizer they need to make the corn grow. That is a larger chunk than the oil used in the machines if I remember and there is no getting it around it currently
No it isn't they have Webpages. They treat celebrities to free room and board and sometimes take them on cruises on their private yachts. While the cost to "clear" Scientology is still 200k for the every day schmo.
I stopped reading it when they went off on an editorial from supporting stem cell research to supporting abortion in the early 00's, with 0 supported scientific reasons to support abortion. Never trust an overly emotional scientist or an overly serious religious person. Nature, the mag is perfectly readable with a smattering of college science and without all the politicizing.
And sites would stop writing senseless amounts of scripting. Some blog sites have scripts from over 10 different sites on a single page. Myspace is the worst, and it is the only way I can communicate with some of my old friends.
Yes, libertarianism for how to use a military and conduct some foreign policy and the domestic policy ala new deal. If we had taken the nearly 1 trillion dollars we have currently spent on the war and invested in this country's infrastructure we would not be in so many shit holes at once.
Seriously though, Portland is trying to gain the title of the renewable energy capital of the United States and this would be awesome in the whole Pacific Northwest as they slowly ween themselves off the major dam systems they build up over the past 80 years.
Um, has everyone forgotten about parity? I swear I see all these kids nowadays with striped raid setups and I have never seen one use parity. Raid 5 for the win.

Flash video is stopgap. Why won't adobe realize that?
Yeah even Pro/E discontinued Linux support. CAD on Linux is a sad place right now unless you are tinkering.

Or just keep the HD-DVD player? Is that an option?
CMYK plugin has been around for over a year now. It works about as well as Photoshop did in version 6 though.

Whatever did happen to the spacesim genre it was there until like 2001 than poof!

How much gas does it take to mow that grass and how much oil does it take to make the chemicals you spray on the lawn to keep it green?

You can put 3-4 TerraBytes in an average server and save the 1000's of watts of electricity you would waste trying to get this to work.
You can save on compression though. Especially if it is hot gay twin porn.

This country needs a bit of libertarianism and a lot of the new deal before we further fall down the economic ladder.

I volunteer to test that theory with the 9 women and the one month thing. I will get back to you, I hope. ;)
Even my grandparents ditched AOL, how are they doing nowadays? Isn't time warner going to dump them?

On the school's network. The network can share peer to peer wirelessly as well. With the density of most college campuses that shouldn't be a problem.
