    One would likely start by doing brain-to-brain transfers and move on to a brain-to-device and then device-to-brain transfer. Once we can create "sleeves" there will be a rush to figure out a transfer process unless other technologies have been discovered to mitigate the need/desire.

    The difference here is those cheap point-and-click cameras only took photos. They did not do the dozens of things a smartphone can do. So if you are going to carry around a device that can only take photos, you may as well get a good one. If however you are already carrying around something that can also take decent photos, why spend the money to also carry something that can only take photos?

  24. Actually you have it backward, modern civilization is modern because Christianity went through reformations. It is far easier to live in a manner that doesn't conform to any specific religion when the religious people that live in your town aren't actively trying to kill you and/or each other for it.
