you got modded as funny, but actually that's what the low-carb fanatics preach. they claim that you don't need to really exercise extra while on a low carb diet. the body isn't storing the fat intake and is burning off the stored fat from the body as a result of no carb intake. there's also something about shedding stored water too, but i get this all second hand from my better half.
i didn't say easier, i said more efficient. meaning that more fat off the body is burned when the body converts fat to energy. yes, the body will burn off the carbs before going into the fat stores. fat doesn't take more effort to burn. it doesn't need to be converted into a burnable source, it's already burnable. that's why the low-carb diets say that low carb intake will burn body fat. there's no carbs to burn on a daily basis, so the body burns the stored fat. the body does not store fat thats consumed. long distance runners already have a low percent of body fat, thus they need lots of carbs which will be burned off as part of their routine.
but again, i get all this second hand from my know it all better half.
if the body doesn't absorb the calories in the fatty foods, then it does matter what you take in. from what i hear, the body will convert any unused carbohydrates to stored body fat. does it store unused fat intake?
i believe the carbs are only needed when you're not out to loose body fat and or weight. burning fat is what the body does when there's no carbs to be had. the body also burns fat more effeciently than it burns carbohydrates (less of that complex chemical conversion going on). thus (from what my dietician wife tells me) if you want to loose body fat and gain muscle, stay off the carbs and exercise.
there are no essential carbohydrates for the body to survive.
i was talking about the "other" book, yes. sorry for the miscommunication. the IBM book, while good in some sections, is a dreary read in my oppinion. it's hard to get through a book that's a bore to read. I haven't read the Eclipse in Action yet, but it's definately on my wish list.
i wasn't speaking to age of consentual sex. i realize that in most states it's 16 or 17 and up. parents are still responsible for their kids and if they tell their kids that they're not to be having sexual relations, they can charge the kids with being an unrully child.
i'm not so sure there's a grey line there unless this is of a state where 17 is considered legal age. parents are responsible for their kids up till the age they leave the house. they're responsible to feed them and responsible for when they run a car into someone's mailbox. i believe they have an intrinsic right and responsibility to monitor their kids whereabouts, even if they need to use such discrete methods as this.
um, the Java Developers Guide to Eclipse does discuss SWT/JFace general development. check out chapters 10 and 27 for the content you seek out. btw, you'll still have to distribute at least the SWT/JFace libraries. I don't know what the size of those are.
aren't sun one and netbeans two different products? netbeans being the open source version, and sun one being the extended propriatary version?
yes, it's possible to do j2ee development using eclipse. i haven't use any built in features to start up a tomcat server, but have started tomcat externally and used it for remote debugging of server side code.
that said, setting up a j2ee app is much easier if doing it by hand with a text editor then switching to an IDE after all the grunt work is setup. you'll be less dependant on your ide, and you'll know ant and all the headach^N^N^N^N^challenges that goes into building and deploying a j2ee application.
dnd editing? i find myself finding every way possible to stay away from that mouse. you can copy and paste methods, classes using eclipse, but yes, dnd i haven't really found (or looked for).
if you need a gui editor, then use netbeans. it has an excellent gui editor and is free. if eclipse is the hammer, then gui editing is not a nail...

you didn't specifically mention what it is about eclipse's project handling that you don't like. i would mention that you can generally organize your work such that it makes using the ide much easier. eclipse gives you the ability to exclude certain directories for each project.

i've got this book as well as the slightly outdated netbeans book from oreilly. the netbeans book is miles better than the eclipse book. the eclipse book definately reads like an ibm type book. there are not enough pictures and walk throughs as there are explaining every single widget/button/option in extreme wordy detail.
the netbeans was an overall easy read and got the user quickly familiar with the parts of the ide they needed to use.
i'm a heavy eclipse user during my day job mainly b/c i think it's slightly nicer on win32, and i like the debugger more than netbeans. eclipse also seems to require slightly memory footprint and since i haven't yet convinced my manager that having more than 384MB of memory for a java development ide and running a local wl server is absolutely necessarry for maintaining some level of sanity, i'm using what works best for me. at home on a linux platform, i prefer netbeans just because it looks and feels nicer. the gtk+ on linux isn't as nice as the native java look and feel. just my personal preferance.
It's ok to download any songs. That's not copyright infringement. It's illegal to distribute the songs, but i don't not to recieve. The law punishes the dealers and not the addicts.
It's also illegal for a store to sell cigarettes to a minor, but it's not illegal for a minor to smoke cigarettes.

i thought most people choose osX b/c it's pretty? X is just as usefull as osX or as usefull as MS Windows.
i'd say more commonly, oxX was preinstalled in the machine coupled with the fact that it was pretty cute and all. there are some of us who choose software based on price and usefullness and lastly ideology. if not, we wouldn't be using those nvidia cards with their propriatary drivers. the price is right for the hardware and they work nicely.
myself i prefer to put my money in to hardware rather than software. seems you get a bigger bang for your buck there.
differences in penalty, sure, but not implicit pardons. stealing a candy bar is still stealing, tho not punishable as bank robery in these fine states.

hey dude, obviously you don't get the point. you still obtained some songs using napster. weather it was 3 or 30,000, it's all copyright infringement (not theft). and that's what's illegal. it doesn't matter if you drive 80 to work every day or only the one day you were running late last week. it's still speeding and you can still get a ticket. etc, etc.
there's no implicit pardons for lack of volume copyright infringement, but typically them there law-yers are going to only prosicute those who will give them the biggest bang for the buck.
this was modded interesting? wtf? the parent is a troll comment. haven't we realized that the right tool is for the right job? if you need to print a paragraph, then abi might work, if you need a simple spreadsheet, then sure try out gnumeric. if you'd like something cross platform that's supported by a major hardware and software vendor, then go for OpenOffice or its derivitive(s).
Slower than MS Office on Linux, that's not even really funny? I just don't get these trolls today. Let's try this one; "hey, and if you open a document that contains the words "hot grits" and "natalie portman" and press ctrl+shift+alt+F5, then you get a nice picture of natalie portman grits and all with the caption, "IN SOVIET RUSSIA LINUX RUNS ON MS OFFICE!"
the statement is true as it stands. minor acts aren't agressively pursued unless there's a big financial gain in it for the enforcement agency (speeding tickets/parking tickets). maryjane is illegal in these here parts, but most police will look the other way for small infractions. there's plenty of low hanging fruit, but there's not enough benefit. same as any other business, there's a cost benefit analysis to be had.
firebird is mozilla. it's a separate project to build only the browser (probably a little more). it's only at 0.6 b/c they've got a few issues to work out i guess on building it as light as possible. it's going to be called "Mozilla the Browser" or some such in the future, firebird is just a temporary name. we'll be able to get Moz the browser, Moz the suite, or maybe Moz the Mail client.
so, yes, i'd say the most browser use in the future will be Moz the browser, followed by IE. Moz the suite will eventually be low on the pole, but remember, it's all from the same trunk using the same sources.

harassment is already illegal, another law didn't need to be made because of a specific type of harassment. these specific laws also make me sick. outlawing dangerous/reckless driving is fine, but outlawing drunk driving because it _might_ also be reckless because a emotional group lobbys the congress? laws s/b simple and concise. and general enough to cover the behavior they're intended to cover.

those had to deal with the types of things the companies actually spoke about. not weather they were able to speak at all.
this is effectively the same as a law banning television commercials. sure it would be nice. but is it right?
